I don't see it as any reason to hate football. Them getting loads of money should be a reason for celebrating football as it SHOULD mean them paying off their debts, reducing ticket prices and helping out their supporters. Of course what it will really mean is raising prices and spending twice as much as they earn paying for that pillock to have the hair taken off his arse and put on his head while somehow racking up more debt and THAT is a reason to hate football.

Manchester United have sold their season tickets in record time. 55000 season tickets sold. The fans seem really happy with them. Got to be the most season tickets in the UK.

Some of their fans are happy with them. Some less so hence the existence of FC United. I'm relatively good mates with a couple of the Man U fanzine editors and they are less than enamoured with the set up at Old Trafford. The massive price hikes, the enforced buying of additional tickets. They tell the same story as my Arsenal supporting friends that normal people are priced out and Old Trafford is more and more a business venue than a football club.

    Makes me f*****g sick.
That is why I detest them as a club. Well, they aren't a club any more, they're a brand.
As the saying goes, love Barnsley, hate football.

Why does Manchester United doing well and been a very attractable club make you detest them.

Thats just silly. Surely you've got to admire them. Any Football club in the world would want to get to that point. Hopefully Barnsley will at one point.

    It's my choice.
Spend a Saturday lunchtime in the Chennells when Man U are on Sky and see why.
All the sad, plastic fans that latch on to them in Barnsley is unbelievable.
In all honesty though, it's the whole Premiership monster that I'm growing to detest. The money is just obscene. Then you watch our useless, pampered, over-hyped so called superstars 'perform' in the World Cup.........

The money only goes in because of how good and popular it is world wide.
people who complain about the money are jealous and bitter.

It wasn't long ago that Manchester Utd WERE debt free - i.e. before the Glaziers took over!

Buy old stock Adidas off eBay. Plenty of retro gazelles, munchens, trimm trabb, stockholms etc about & they've already been bought so you'll not bet swelling the corporate coffers. And the clowns who buy from Sports Direct won't have them.

One day Phil you might understand the problem a lot of people, some who were once dyed in the wool fans, have with modern football. Until then you enjoy your blissful ignorance.

Ridiculous. All the time they're hiking up prices as well.

Got no time for United, I always associate them with the idiots of society.

Literally all the knobheads at school supported them despite been born nowhere near Manchester & having no Mancunian relatives.

Then you've got all the pillock's in town who watch them. The type that chant 'Rooney' & then they'll sing 'you Scouse *******' at Gerrard despite not even been from Manchester.

I honestly think there's more plastic Manc's in the town than Barnsley fans, they're literally everywhere. You go playing 5 a side & there's always 2 or 3 in their shirt.

Wish people would back their local club more

Why do you have to be from Manchester to call Gerrand a "Scouse *******"?

My point is that there's a Manchester / Liverpool rivalry. There's no Yorkshire / Liverpool rivalry.

Why pretend your a part of it when your clearly not?

    Agreed.

There's more than enough money in the game to have a successful and thriving football competition at all levels from the top down to non-league teams.

Unfortunately the vast majority of the money is in the hands of a small number of lunatic chairmen who insist on over-spending it on wages, whilst small clubs go bust owing less than a top player's weekly salary.

And the end result of that is that we have a national team who are an embarrassment. And it's also the reason why I'll hardly be bothering this coming season. The money men have destroyed my love for football.
