Just one further comment to make here. It was on TalkSport yesterday the starting lineup costs from Sunday's games. I forget the exact figures but it was something like: Man Utd £169m - Man City £161m. Read into that what you will.

Yes Utd are a sound business model and have done things successfully over a period of time. However, as soon as they had their first sniff of success (being the first ever Premier League winners) $ky gave them a golden ticket financially - since then all the kids wanna play for Man Utd. When I was a young un everyone wanted to play for Liverpool, cos they were the successful club at the time. Utd were just lucky to be the first ever winners of the Prem, and since then they haven't looked back. As Royston Tyke says above, if this spending didn't occur then Utd would win everything all the time. And how many of us can say that would make for an interesting season? Whatever anyone says, Sunday was bloody good enjoyment!

You do realize that has gone over the head of the Man Utd supporters on here dont you??

They accuse City fans of being bitter , but everytime a club comes along to challenge them they get all whiney anf moaning about how the other club has bought the title, yet forget about the money they spent along the way and the youngsters they collect from around the Country, because they can!!!
