Bobby Collins in retrospect and the circumstances he managed in did a fantastic job for us. Brought Baker in as 'cover' for Andy Rhodes then he kept 11 out of 13 clean sheets so Andy was on his way.

Isn't there some story about him getting freed from Barnsley Boys u14s then going off to play for Wosborough then coming back?

We kept his brother Kevin on though whatever happened to Kev Mac?

Not heard that story myself but could well be true.
Never knew what became of Kevin and I used to drink with his grandad in East Dene many moons ago and never thought to ask tbh.
What happened to Ian (taff )Evans, McCarthy's Sidekick for ages ent heard of him for a few years now?

He was scouting for Wolves when mick was there not sure why he hasn't rocked up at Ipswich. What a fantastic centre half pair they were. You look at the current pair and think we haven't progressed at all...

I remember Bobby Horn but I don't recall Gary Pierce. My memory is getting worse.

Gary Pierce was signed by Allan Clarke from Wolves for about £35 000. He was brought in during the close season of 1979, along with Ronnie Glavin, Norman Hunter & Bobby Flavell.

He was working for Post Office for quite a while. Kev was nowhere near the player his brother was. I played against him lots from schoolboy upward. Dirty **** though, but soft as ***** if you could give it him back.

Andy Rhodes broke a finger in the first game of the season at Grimsby and I don't think he ever got back in the team.

Correct, I'd forgotten him, I don't think he played many games though.
