It would be ridiculous for the club to get involved in this. Leave it to the law.

What saddens me is that back in the early 70s I used to cycle down to Manvers coking plant to their little railway shed and sit with the blokes that drove the steam and diesel engines round the site. Once, a driver invited me in the cab of a diesel shunter and even let me drive it - as long as I hid while we passed the offices... Anyway, these morons have spoiled some happy memories of the place.

Absolute nonsense to say that a bloke convicted of a crime unrelated to Barnsley Football Club should be banned from Oakwell. The only reason he's being talked about is frankly because this place bullied him because of his appearance and his constant presence at the ground.

The people who I watched attacking the police and attempting to burn down a hotel with human beings inside, both staff and residents, are actually like striking miners and they were being bullied?

    Jeez

Two people have been charged. They will appear in court today and either prison tonight starting their sentence, or on remand until they go to court...

If the bullied point is aimed at my post then you've missed my point.

He's only talked about on here because this forum branded him 'Jobless Harry Potter' and took the piss out of him. That's my point.

Wasn’t it DJ Fatty Boy that coined that? I’m sure he did a diagram of the Ponte with it on.

You're apologising for someone attacking police at a racist riot.

As for the 2 tier policing nonsense, people have been arrested and bailed for Manchester Airport and I expect charges will follow. Harehills - 27 is quite a few arrests and the difference is that wasn't a planned demonstration so there will have been less coverage (both from police and other sources) meaning there will be a lot less evidence to go on when it comes to identifying suspects after the fact.

    No excuses from me.
But apparantly and I have it on good authority, as i know him (travelled with us on many occasions along with his dad many years ago and himself last season on a few occasions) and his family well. Also those close to him. the guy in question (Graham btw) did not renew this year. Due to the abuse he gets from Barnsley fans. Eg the Harry Potter jibes. And the fact being Autistic.
He was apparantly going to take up watching Man city. Which tbh if true. I'd have found astonishing, knowing his passion for Barnsley fc.

In my mind He will undoubtedly have got carried away in the moment, and someone who was there last night witnessed his full encounters. tried to talk to him not to get involved. But it was more than the still photo.

He was probably there initially just to protest. (A protest I dont agree with btw. But part of our freedoms I suppose unless you were a miner, freedom of movement was stopped during the strike)
When will folk that do protest at such rallies. Realise they are part of the issue by watching the hard right thugs carry out extreme violations. And by standing around doing nothing to stop such crimes. In effect encouraging.

He will no doubt be punished. Summat I agree with. But for how long is anybody's guess given his condition. If used in court.

should a business have the right to ban those who attack people based on race. Who commit arson and try to burn refugees. 100 yes.

second point isn’t worth considering as it’s not relevant to this discussion.

Apologising ??? No I’m not I’m saying the club shouldn’t have any power to ban him for an offence not connected to Barnsley Football club or at Oakwell!

Of course there isn’t two tier policing. Take you head out of the Daily Mail.

Not if not connected with that business and you are assuming his guilt in those things.

Any business will always retain the right to ban people. Wednesday are talking about banning those wearing knock off shirts. People are routinely banned for many things from many businesses

As soon as he pleads guilty which given the footage he will be should be banned immediately to be reviewed when he gets out of prison

Prison for kicking a police shield ? Do you have footage of him doing anything worthy of a prison sentence? I haven’t seen anything.
If you are suggesting being present at a rally that clearly had racist intentions so guilt by association and kicking a police shield is worthy of prison then perhaps we need to build thousands more prisons jeez, what’s the punishment for dropping chewing gum flogging ? Ffs
