I know, what is the world coming to when you can't attend a racist demonstration as part of a mob attempting to torch a hotel with people inside and attack the police without consequences? It's PC gone mad.

Would I ban anyone I knew was attending a racist hate march and attacked the police? And been convicted of it? All day every day and twice on days ending in y.

you are aware of the arson and attacking police. Every single one of those who attended and didn’t leave as soon as the first stone was chucked needs a criminal record. Anyone who encouraged them to do it needs a criminal record. Anyone actively participating will undoubtedly spend some time inside.

 

He stayed at the protest after it turned violent. He was then involved in an attack on a police officer who was trying to stop them killing a group of people based on their skin colour.

Absolutely deserves everything coming to him and he should think himself lucky he is not facing terrorism* and arson/attempted murder charges along with everyone else that was still there.

*Terrorism in UK is defined as "an act of violence attempting to influence government policy". Attacking a hotel holding asylum seekers meets that definition.

 

I’m completely aware of the arson but being there doesn’t make them an arsonist does it so don’t get your point.

If you hang around with someone who is committing a crime you can get done for the same crime. If you also attack police officers who are currently attempting to stop the crime taking place, then, yes, you can and will face prison for it.

 

What a plank you are ! Do you think he went thinking I’ll torch the hotel ? Talking absolute gash, if you have video evidence showing him attempting to set fire to the hotel then I’ll change my stand point! I hear from the news there was 700 muppets there, absolute clowns one and all but there wasn’t 700 arsonists so get a grip.

 

I get that but it’s clearly not right, if I’m walking up the TT bridge and it kicks off between some Barnsley fans and some opposition I’d be fighting it all the way if I got a banning order because I happened to be in the same vicinity as people who’d been to the same place.

 

He wasn’t just walking past, he was literally attacking the police whilst they were trying to stop people being set on fire by the group he was with.

 

A big difference being in the wrong place at the wrong time, than turning up at a known pre-planned event knowing what may transpire.... That is all.

I always believe in rehabilitation for criminals, as prison should be an institute for that very thing. But domestic terrorism? Sometimes it's not all black and white

 

Just a few points.
Bullying. I've no clue who this Harry Potter bloke is. Never heard of him before these riot threads. I hate bullying but I'd suggest a good way to avoid being bullied is not to put yourself in positions and and associate with people whose actions and thoughts invite ridicule.
The photograph shown on here. I'd like to see every single one of them up before a magistrate where their actions can be dealt with individually and in detail and dealt with with the harshness or leniency that's appropriate.
Autism. I'm no expert but from my experience it's no explanation for stupidity or extreme views. I've closely supervised one person who has autism and two sons of one of our closest friends are autistic. Are they socially awkward? Yes. Are they stupid, ignorant, a bit slow? Absolutely not. Just the opposite. All three are extremely bright, two are very talented musicians and not one of them would have been seen dead near that riot. So let's not link autism with being a bit daft. Or racist.

 

So they broke into the hotel, did they find any Immigrants? & if they did what were their intensions?

 

As far as the OP is concerned.... If I were Barnsley FC I wouldn't ban the guy from Oakwell unless reports suggest this is typical behaviour and he is likely to be a further danger to the public at matches. The club has the right to ban who they like but as someone said if they start permanently banning everyone guilty of dangerous behaviour (or simply crimes) there'd be 3 people left in the ground. Give the guy a warning about future conduct likely to bring the club into disrepute and let the law and the criminal justice system deal with him and take his liberty away if they wish. When he's served his time he should have a clean slate (with the above rider). As a general rule I also wouldn't single out football clubs for potential bans for these peole if I was the Government. What if some of them like the opera?.... . Targeting football is too specific, discriminatory and draconian in my view.
