swinton red u know what pisses me off, hearing fozzie n jcr bemoaning his sacking ,only kozzie comes out and honestly says they let him down too fecking true kozzy u did just that, not you but many more in the team, that didnt turn up,im dissapointed davey had to go, it was the right decision,as to what was going on the field ,the players got the manager the sack not the fans not the board they had no alternative and i thank the players for that. The manager had given up the players had given up,even the fans had given up many leaving including myself early for the 3rd game in a row.It felt like we were going to work not watching a football match, lets only hope whoever comes in can give these a big kick up to the arse, cos we do have a very good squad of players thanks to sad, unfortunately he couldnt take us that bit further and acheive his aims and objectives,i only hope we fetch someone with experiance in which i dont think we will ,we will get another rookie manager like we have done for years except for basset, cant we emulate Burnley and get a good pro in we averaged same crowds as Burnley and they made the play offs with their ambition.Pc dont go for the cheap option ,invest in someone like steve coppell or paul jewel,if not we should have just stuck it out with andy richie at least we enjoyed watchin that team play and i cant remember ever leaving the ground early under him.

It came to the stage where he had to go, as much as anything in an attempt to restore a happy working environment and reunite the fanbase. I suspect in years to come it will be a struggle to find anyone who will admit to wanting him out, as we may look back at three seasons of Championship survival in a different light. In much the same way as few seem inclined to concede that they ever wanted Spackman appointed when the vast majority did. Good luck Simon. No-one deserves the kind of vitriol you got from the pillocks among us.

Thanks for all your hard work Simon

I can't imagine what it would be like trying to do my job wi several thousand knowalls (who could all do it better) hurling personal abuse at me as I tried my best.

Even if you weren't quite up to it, you didn't deserve that.

    Agree completely

There's no doubting that he put everything into the job, unfortunately it wasn't enough.

The cup run will be one of the finest things we'll see in our lifetime as supporters.

    Seconded

My doubt that Simon Davey worked his nuts off for us but I just think he took us as far as he could.

    All the best SD.

Well said. I never have been a Davey fan but have never slagged him off. The Anfield win and stuffing Chelsea were great bits of history for the club and I wonder if we'll ever make it so far in the cup again in my life time. Good luck to Davey (even if it is coaching in the States!)

    When is Simon being canonized??

He was paid very well to do a job badly - anybody would think he was doing us a favour out of the goodness of his heart

Nurses with 25 years service get less praise than this

I hope he does well in his management career. He needs to have a rest and recharge his batteries.

Dunno. Maybe pissing several million quid up the wall and

leaving us lower in the league than when he took over represents success to some? (dunno)
