According to what ive been told Lopata has let say an attitude problem and is a tad prickly to deal with. Hence they are trying to move him on
That's a shame and I can almost understand Kasper being like that, with the way the club have messed him about. But its still an unprofessional attitude isn't it, and Conor has made it clear he wont accept that, from anybody!. And I'm disappointed for Robbo as well, it didn't sound good at first when he was taken off.
It seems strange that we're not even prepared to give Lopata a chance to put himself in the shop window to get a move, probably ego at play in this one.
Id be prickly too if I couldn't get a fair crack at playing in our defence. Conors gonna need an extension on that naughty step soon.
He apparently had some issues before he even joined us mate. Personally, I get why on an individual level he's upset, but that's football. He played for us, did okayish, got injured, lost his spot, got sent out on loan & a new manager at his parent club doesn't fancy him. It happens all the time when new managers come in, they just feel a different approach is needed, especially if Conor feels Lopata doesn't work well with himself or others around him. I mean look how vicious Pep was when going to City - poor Joe Hart was thrown aside fast!
Disagree. I've backed us to win and want us to field the strongest possible side and without Roberts and Shepherd he's our strongest option. I think he's showing an equally negative message not selecting Lopata given it's a two month minimum injury for Roberts. There's a time and a place not to be swayed by your principles.
Yeah maybe there's some truth in that, with the mistakes that our back line have been regularly making. And I'd be peed off as well, if I wasn't given a chance of a few games, in there.
Completly ballaxed my message up lol. Its a value rather than principle, if is to be swayed then its not really a value. Culture is all about the long term and unless he explains to the players why hes playing and they accept it, its just going to bite him on the back long term
I agree. At minute it just looks to me. "You're not playing because I say so". Even premium Clough couldn't keep that up.
Ego on who's part. As much as I like Lopata. If he came In with an attitude. (And it's still guesswork. even on my part) Had the law laid down. And persists to carry on. You can't relax the rules. Or, they are then a waste of time. Throw em in the bin. I, just as I say. got the impression Conor had thrown the towel in where Lopata is concerned. I would be more than happy to be wrong and there's still an open door.
Like you say it's all total guesswork but I'm guessing that if Lopata has been purposely isolated from the team then it would bruise an ego to have to go back and pick him. Hopefully Lopata gets a move and CH brings in who he wants.
