Why would he know? Because there was a pending investigation and the texts were published in the global media. That's how. So yes, I would expect the Chairman of a PL football club to also know.
Kind of agree, but then the other stereotyping to which you refer wasn't the basis for the holocaust. Ballotelli is actually trying to be anti-racism. He's just not very bright.
Some people are just too touchy these days. No harm in that tweet whatsoever. FFS are Yorkshire folk not labeled tightfisted as are Aberdonians here in Scotland. Talking of Scotland arn't we labeled skirt wearing savages with a passion for Irn Bru and Haggis. An awful lot worse going on in the world. Some just need to get out more.
Stupid thing to say from a stupid man. That's what stupid men do, say stupid things. It's not racist though. Jewish people aren't a race, they follow a religion. Should I want to, I could become a Jew. There are Jews from every ethnic background. Although, to be honest, I have trouble with the word racist altogether. We're all human beings, it's just that we all have different physical characteristics. Good job really, otherwise we wouldn't be able to tell one another apart, our sense of smell isn't sensitive enough to differentiate one another by our fragrance, so we use our sight. One of the different physical characteristics we have is the colour of our skin, but people with different skin pigmentation aren't a different race any more than people with different coloured eyes. We're all human beings, race has no scientific basis, it's ballacks. What Balotteli wrote was anti-Semitic. In a fashion. Saying people like money is not a terrible insult, even if it's a massive generalisation and untrue in many cases. Where it gets complicated is the holocaust and the fact that the Nazis used a similar argument to turn popular opinion against Jewish people. Was Balotelli trying to do the same? Was he ****, but that doesn't mean it wasn't a stupid thing to say because he must know his history. However, should we all be forever compared to a bunch of psychos from 70+ years ago if we say something similar to what they said? I dunno. I think not. I don't think using a crude stereotype makes you a Nazi. Just an idiot. No ban. His punishment should be the trouble he's caused for himself and the explaining he'll keep having to repeat for the next 6 months until his next daft trick.
That wasn't the full tweet, just the line that's being reported as being anti-scemetic The picture posted had an image of Super Mario with the heading "Don't be a racist!" The text read: "Be like Mario, he's an Italian plumber, created by Japanese people, who speaks English and looks like a Mexican." It finished: "He jumps like a black man and grabs coins like a Jew." He later Posted: He also described reposting the image as "my unlucky moment". However, he later wrote: "I apologise if I've offended anyone. "The post was meant to be anti-racist with humour. I now understand that out of context it may have the opposite effect. "Not all Mexicans have a moustache, not all black people jump high and not all Jewish people love money. "I used a cartoon done by somebody else because it has Super Mario and I thought it was funny and not offensive. Again, I'm sorry." http://twitter.com/Bookieinsiders/status/539721471866966016/photo/1
He probably doesn't even realise what he's said, he strikes me as being that thick. Have you seen the video of him trying to put a bib on. He's not the brightest bulb.
Absolute nonsense. I've seen that Mario thing before, and found it amusing. It's taking the piss out of stereotyping folk innit? Not surprising that some folk have taken umbrage though. And, Balotelli should know better. But he's a bit of a wally. And not much cop at football lately.
