23 points in 21 games - 1.095. Still better than Keith.

No, not the cost, more that people are feeling the pinch more now than 3 years ago. And 3 years ago we had recently introduced the free ST ticket for kids which increased our average attendances from 11,452 to 13,189, had we not introduced this the crowds would have slumped to 10,000, they were decreasing already from our first season back at this level.

I must be mental but I wouldn't describe the end of last season as anti-football. His players just weren't good enough. But I still quite enjoyed watching us. Genuinely.

That's what I meant when I said "more unaffordable".

Don't we do free STs for kids now? Genuine question.

Yeah we do but the take up on them isn't like it was 3 years ago, back then it was a new scheme, new marketing idea to get them interested again. It needed something new for this year but sadly we don't have the staff or money to implement it. And you also need to look at the opposition, our attendances take a battering without our piggy neighbours. Our average attendances since being back at this level

    06/07 - 12733
    07/08 - 11452
08/09 - 13189 New free ticket introduced after drop of over 1,200 previous pre season, Utd, Weds, Wolves all sell out away ends, £5 Forest offer
09/10 - 12964 Weds & Newcastle sold out away ends, large away followings from Middlesbro
10/11 - 11856 No Sheffield clubs, only Leeds attract a decent following
11/12 - 9897 £30 No Sheffields clubs again, only Leeds.

Without that new free ticket in 08/09 those crowds would have dwindled each season.

Re: but Kieth is prepared to work within a budget,Robins was not

I think those stats are pretty interesting to be honest. I'd still much rather watch a Hill team than a Robins team purely down to the quality of the football for the most part. I wasn't a massive fan of the boring/griding football we played under Robins for most of his reign (there were exceptions though!) but you are right in that it does make you more difficult to beat. It would be good to find a blend of resilliance and structure at the back with the ball being moved quickly on the deck going forward but again with our budget thats going to be a difficult problem for any manager to solve. I think Hill is getting there with the style of football he wants to play but we do need a Plan B when teams sit back behind the ball and we certainly need to be less brittle defensively.

The one part I can't agree in is I didn't see Robins as media Savvy. He came across as boring and uninterested from day one. It could just have been his monotone voice that did my head in though.

The question I've got Conan is; with our financial constraints and the managers about at the minute who would you like in charge? To be fair you've probably answered this a few times but I can't remember your response.

Don't think he does his ppg managers website anymore. Those stats don't really show the true picture though, many **** managers were above Danny Wilson on that table...

    That's a shame.

Ever since that Chairman who's name I choose to forget used ppg to justify Ritchie getting the boot I've slavishly perused that only statistic to the exclusion of all other factors.

58 points in 56 games = 1.04 (I've rounded it up to be generous).

I'm more concerned about the fact that Keith is losing more than 50% of his games. Not many other people seem to mind though.

    So basically 0.05 difference then?

I thought Mark Robins did a good job. I supported him, cheered on his team and defended him when needed from those that unfairly criticised him. Usually from the same people that wanted Davey and now Hill sacked. But he isn't our manager anymore. Hill is, and under different circumstances. I prefer Hill's style of play because he plays football the way, in my opinion, it should be played.

But the biggest thing for me is the majority of fans seem to be behind him and supportive of what he is trying to achieve. Which is quite novel for a club that has had a revolving door policy for managers. I like it when there is a consensus amongst fans. It makes supporting us more fun and makes success more likely.

Yeah more stats to allow you to indulge in your campaign to prove how useless Hill is. I can't prove this but if Robins was still in charge, hypothetical seeing as he couldn’t work with the same budget as Hill is performing miracles with, the trickle of fans not returning to Oakwell would have become a raging torrent.

Lies, damn lies and statistics. Hill may look worse on paper but the reality is that you can't compare like for like but judging by the results of recent polls and Hill related questions on here the vast majority of fans are still 100% behind Hill and can see just the excellent job he is doing.

The outlook and expectations of fans has changed as well. Also cant remember many calling for Robins head either.
