I get what you say and it’s a fair point, but our selling point in attracting the right people could be same as the players in that we have a good track record of not standing in their way should they wish to move on? We can ‘t really know what’s happening fully looking on in from the outside so to speak

I know I didn't dream it but can't remember where I read it but I recall reading somewhere DM going on record saying we would only be bringing in a couple of players if that for the new season...and would be going with the same squad more or less
So anybody reckon that Danes departure could be linked to this ...after all his hard work the failure to follow through on Dike by the club the lack of new blood he would be able to bring in... having to work under further restraints due to balance sheet losses... possibly peed him off big time and so he's walked....
It will come out in the wash no doubt...Why

I just find it strange that top to bottom folk have and are strongly rumoured to be walking with no statement from the club squashing particular rumours ....so knowing a little about previous failings at the club
In my opinion somethings gone off behind the scenes to bring it all to fruition.....
One step forward two steps back ...springs to mind

What Dane said about Dike was that we had agreed a fee with Orlando which was within our budget. They hadn’t agreed terms with Dike, and he said that there had not been time to do that with the rush to get him to us.
When he said he wasn’t expecting anyone to leave I assume he was talking about the players - that’s our main concern - possibly Ismael as well. If on the football side we lose the manager and the captain it’s a blow but if we trade up in terms of quality then it’s a positive. We need to improve so some people will have to leave for that to happen. I know replacing Mowatt won’t be easy but it’s not impossible either.

I don’t think anything has gone off, more that success doesn’t go unnoticed. Val getting us to the playoffs was never going to slip under the radar and if he didn’t go to West Brom, he’d have probably been on the radar of other clubs. Mowatt is out of contract so can do whatever he likes. Dane Murphy has got some good deals over the line for us and always speaks well in the media. Again, that won’t have gone unnoticed by clubs.

Hopefully we’re moving quickly with getting the replacements in.

It does make you wonder if something has happened behind the scenes for his position to change so abruptly

Every club is a stepping stone right up to the elite. Most of our appointments on and off the pitch these days involve a club lower down the food chain losing someone to us.
Best we can hope is that we keep developing and rising up that food chain.

Where’s the stability. Big organisations don’t change CEO every 18months or so like we seem to. Can’t imagine it’s the best environment at times to work in for the day to day staff who work at the club. They get used to one persons way of working etc and then off they go and then have to start that whole learning curve all over again. I guess it’s probably testament to those staff that things carry on and work so well each time. Danes always seemed a bit of a person who talks with out delivering much. He’ll quickly get found out at a much bigger club that it won’t be able to get away with it so easily.

If the Liverpool manager and our prospective new manager went out and got into some trouble would they be taken to the Klopp Schopp?

Val would still be with us had WBA not got an incompetent owner, they would have got their first choice in Wilder or whoever it was. Having said that Fulham might have come sniffing now Parker is going Ballmouth.

And would have likely gone to the next Club to come in for him.

It all just makes me more and more cynical. I'm at a point now where I'm taking anything that any player, manager, CEO or owner says, with a pinch of salt.

I just accept that they’ll move on, just enjoy any good times, like most of last season, whilst they’re here. Both Success and failure are cyclical for most clubs

Sadly football is just a way to make Money for Players Managers CEOs. All the badge kissing and warm words to fans about loving the club town fans etc are just noise they feel they have to make to keep the fans sweet. Sadly gone are the days of the likes of Steve Bull of Wolves who turned down moves to bigger better clubs because he was playing for the club he loved and money was less important to him than that.

I still find Murphy’s contract the most shocking thing here. Surely we can’t lose a CEO and be left without one..? A CEO should have a 6 month notice period
