Hopefully he continues digging and becomes so toxic even the worst football club owners won't ever touch him again. Scum bag that he is.
Wow. It’s one thing to have a controversial opinion but to voice personal insults about her appearance etc is low even for him. Comes as no surprise though which is the real issue.
I can’t comment on Owen as I can’t remember the competition in 1998. It depends, if in the same year it was an Olympic year & a Wiggins / Hoy had won several gold or we’d won the rugby World Cup or a Brit won Wimbledon then they wouldn’t win for finishing runner up. I think you have to bear in mind the lack of competition in women’s football. It’s so much harder to get anywhere near the top of the men’s game because there’s so many countries that concentrate on the men’s game that don’t take the women’s game seriously. It’s not like Tennis for example where it’s pretty much as hard to make it to the top of the women’s game as it is the men’s. Looking at the achievements I’d say KJT deserved it the most.
No problem with a women winning, agree that Katerina Johnson Thompson could have won it also, but Womens football is the in thing at the moment.
"Joey Barton - Days in Jail 74" 74 days in Jail! You'd think he'd learn to keep his mouth shut and stop assaulting people. The utter bellend that he is hasn't got 2 brain cells to rub together
What a vile bellend Barton is. My guess is he realises he's now finished in the football game, and has decided to try is hand at the old Laurence Fox card. I consider myself a pacifist, but I would absolutely love someone to give the kn0bhead a proper good hiding. All these people who gave him airtime and portrayed him as a 'misunderstood thinking man'...I wonder how they feel right now? He's a thick, nasty, ignorant bigot. Always has been.
I've never heard of her but that's because, other than Barnsley, I've more or less completely abandoned football. There are regularly players in the England men's team I've never heard of too. I have no problem with her winning it, it's a public vote, so how can you have. I am a little bit old fashioned in that I like the winner to have actually won something though, but I'm only expressing that because we're talking about it, it's not a big issue for me. I've also always been a little sceptical about winners coming from team sports, so never really agreed with the footballers who won it in the past. There's exceptions, Geoff Hurst scoring a hattrick in the World Cup final is clearly an amazing individual achievement, but the success of a team is due to many individuals. My pick for this year would have been either Katarina Johnson-Thompson who is an exceptional athlete or Josh Kerr who, for me, produced the most outstanding performance in the whole of Athletics in 2023 by beating the overwhelming favourite. Probably the biggest favourite in sport. Both won gold medals, both had me shouting and screaming at the TV like a lunatic and both got my patriotic blood surging like only an athlete in a GB vest can. But that's because I like track and field, if you're into other sports I'm sure there are other worthy winners, including the one that was voted for.
One of the things that puzzles me is that it only seems to be "manly" (I haven't a clue if that's the right word) sports that get compared. Johnson-Thompson's achievements are amazing, but nobody says "well she'd get lapped by the male decathletes". Or "look at her, they only do five events in the heptathlon and not ten". Yet in football, and to a lesser extent cricket, women are compared against men all the time. It's weird.
Seven events. Apologies, I know what you wrote doesn't detract from the point you're making, but try as I might, I couldn't let it go.
I couldn't have put it better. My thoughts exactly. Also I don't see how individuals who have the best cars and horses for example. Can win. Great achievements and abilities admittedly. But not for me winners of the award.
DJ Extraordinaire are his preferred pronouns I believe. And he answers to the names "Thunder Muscle" and "Rocky Flame".
