Looking at booking a Mascot day for my 5yr Old Lad, looks like a cracking day but shocked that it doesn’t include the Kit in the price.
I’m shocked there’s a price. I thought we had a free option (where you supply your own kit), or a corporate one where you go in the box to watch the game, and kit is supplied?
Thanks, it just states on the site “child must be in Kit which is available from the supporters store”
absolutely right - all mine have been mascots at different times and it's an excellent day. When I took one of them the other mascot was doing it for the fifth ! time that season - seems his father was paying (quite a lot) each time. I don't think they should have to pay. Day started with a football match in the Indoor training place - then a penalty shoot out competition - (daughter won that - the only girl.) then meeting the players and getting autographs - photos etc then accompanying team on to the pitch - and more photos. Didn't buy any kit specially - they just wore their BFC shirt and shorts. Oddly enough when daughter was mascot I had to accompany her in the changing room because women (her mother) not allowed. The guy who runs the 'mascot day' - is it Laurie? - does a superb job.
Laurie was working at the club in 1985 when i worked there. The amount of effort he goes to, to ensure the kids enjoy their day is tremendous.
I don't think I'll ever understand why there are men in the changing room in presumably states of undress that an adult woman can't see but a 12 year old girl can. It's a strange old world. I wish I was a mascot when I was younger. Not for the reasons above before anyone says owt. Maybe they should do an adult version, I bet quite a few would pay for it.
Unless it's changed recently there are both. Depends if you want to make an extra special day of it by adding on the exec experience. There was always a waiting list for the free version and it was smaller for the exec flavor.
Good - it should be free. I was amazed when one of mine was mascot (free) to find that one of the other mascots was doing it for the fifth time - his father paying for him each time. Yes. Laurie and Mrs Laurie do a brilliant job and the kids love it.
It’s a brilliant day etched in both my kids’ memories. of course the club should charge, it’s a business. Worth every penny.
