Ah, I see the rape apologists are about tonight. Threads like this and the Barge thread do a fantastic job of wheedling out the dickheads on here.
I'm not suggesting dishing out summary punishment at all. He should be free to be employed as a footballer, but any club with an ounce of responsibility should decline to employ him. Also have you heard the recording out of interest?
Do you have to be charged and go to court? Thousands of women suffer abuse and violence but don't have enough evidence to charge people
This was the bit I was referring to. Haven't heard the recording - not sure I want to. But are you attaching more importance to it than the CPS?
The recordings and the photos are enough for me to decide he's guilty yes. The court case was dropped due to lack of a forthcoming witness which would now be the mother of his child. Money talks. And so does the manipulation tactics of an abuser in an abusive relationship.
It's a notoriously difficult offence to prove, and where it is proven I would be as harsh as anyone on here. But I do think we have to be careful not to stray beyond the rule of law.
Nope. The case got dropped because of what SuperTyke said. Plenty of evidence against him. Dropped due to his wealth and stature.
It is especially things such as psychological abuse - we've been through it - very difficult to prove
I'm not saying that a vigilante group round him up and confine him for the length of time equivalent to if he were found guilty of rape. I'm suggesting that football clubs should, out of their duty of care to supporters and the community, choose not to employ him. As they are free to do.
Unbelievable this thread the same bloke I was having a debate with few weeks back on here was telling me murderers should be rehabilitated in jail and given a 2nd chance has now convicted mason greenwood found him guilty and banned him from football. BTW I think greenwood probably is guilty but in England we have a judge and jury who get paid for this sort of thing.
You suggested that physical violence ought to be inflicted upon him. And have stirred up the Shrek film torch bearers that post on here. You are the Donald Trump of this board!
But you were basically saying that other players should visit violence on him. Your second statement I can agree with though - there are enough people who can kick a ball around without that sort of baggage so no, I wouldn't employ him either. And fortunately for Manchester United, their resources enable them to buy out any remaining contractual entitlement he may have.
Yes. Jimmy Saville was never prosecuted either but I don't think there's anyone that wouldn't agree he was guilty?
Yes because the CPS have let guilty people off many many times and locked up innocent people many times too. They are not infallible and on this occasion have made an absolutely disgusting decision that is incorrect to anyone with a pair of ears and eyes
