I've been told the club's been really awkward about scouts coming from other clubs. The only ones allowed free tickets are ones we've got players on loan from. It was a free for all in the championship
Wouldn't be a surprise if it was our clubs themselves releasing stuff like this to the media to get people interested. As others have said, a million quid is pocket change to top half Premier League sides yet it would be enough for us to attempt another transformation in January - we've not done too badly with our signings and we are pretty strong in midfield, but the fact we've been playing bairns in defence and no-one apart from Winnall has really made much of impression up front then sacrificing young Holgate to be able to bring four or five players in could be worthwhile. Let's face it, if he does turn out to be quality then he's not going to want to stay anyway, John Stones has already signed a new contract with Everton and is probably a millionaire already and that's what all our other academy lads will be motivated by.
I completely agree. I've no problem with us selling anyone as long as we get a fair deal. The main thing is that the money gets reinvested into the club & we know that Cryne will do that
Always someone higher up the food chain. Bigger clubs will poach our players just like we have from other teams. It's how football works.
Put minimum of £4m and a loan back for the remainder of this season and the whole of next season and I can't see a problem
We produced John Stones. Of course we've got scouts here regularly, when we're giving first team games to Bree, Holgate etc. And anyone watching either of them so far must be impressed with what they've seen. Not a problem with us selling them, so long as we get daft money for em (by pointing to Stonesy).
That'll be a shock to any PNE fans, was sat in the home end on Boxing day and they were really giving him some stick saying he was ***** and one of the worst fullbacks they'd seen. Felt sorry for the lad as he had a poor game-
Me too I've got a soft spot for the lad though so judge him on good stuff, and don't be too critical because I know he young and inexperienced
He was really poor and had a bit of a horror show if I'm honest. Distribution wasn't up to scratch throughout the game, had a torrid time with their winger, and got caught out with his positional sense a couple of times. Preston were poor though, which is why they didn't really capitalise. He's also set himself high standards in his first three games too.
