Williams, Cadden and Earl certainly aren’t. Mael is a passable L1 defender. McCart is the weakest link. But still a manager should be able to teach basic defensive shape and organisation.

We haven't got a good defender. If this lot fluke promotion I wouldn't have faith in any of them as a regular Championship starter.

 

League One defenders make mistakes. Which is why it is so frustrating when Barnsley are sometimes so reluctant to get it in the box.

 

I really wanted Cosgrove to be good for us. Living in Cornwall, my Plymouth supporting mates all said he's a great player, I think he's just toilet.

 

Stevenage struggling for goals. We’re ideal opponents. Christ our defending is embarrassing week in week out.

 

Do you think the players got a group on deal for magaluf that weekend?

 

Yeah we are lucky that our head coach is a former defender, so he will be able to get our defence better...

 

this game is there for the taking but only if we can learn not to back off everyone who runs at us

Imho...I expected a poor game....and it hasn't disappointed!
The little football on show has come from us but its been a poor watch overall. We have been out muscled all over the pitch....the inclusion of Cosgrove is kind of acceptable but as usual he wins the ball and then gives it to the opposition in our half.
Defence are clinging on but organization wise look all over as usual.
Can go either way..because they are what we knew they long ball over physical merchants...but we have to stand up to this.
I'll take a point but a poor game overall.

 

Forget the play-offs....we're way-offs.

The difference between us and them? Desire and effort. All of their players looking quick and positive on the ball. Ours, foot on it, look around, if not tackled immediately, pass it backwards.......big old hooooooof to nobody rinse and repeat.

We're playing Conference level football, might have something to do with having a conference level defence and a League 2 level Head Coach.

That's it! He's getting us playing to a League 2 level currently, that's dropped from a free-flowing, attacking, positive side that he took over.

I don't care if we score 14 in the second half. He's not the man for us, and never has been.
