A slight touch of legs as they crossed but the striker kicked back of his own leg to try win the pen. Should have been booked.
Quite how we have got to HT one up I’ll never know Not withstanding Clarke got a lot to do to change this around in the second half
He’s very poor for me. Has a couple of decent games every so often, which seems to offer the fans some hope.
How is that a pen? If he threw a foot out for a tackle fair enough. All he did was run in front of our defender. Please tell me what our lad is supposed to do?
I see almost nothing in him. No ability to hold up or link play and no goal threat. As always I’d love to be wrong.
Not sure how we're 3rd, but I'll take it with the way we're playing today. Looks like playoffs have to be the aim at the moment, as Hollywood 1st XI and Hollywood 2nd XI seem to have the top two place sewn up. Early days, though.
Imho...its been a poor half. Passing sluggish and very poor.....application slow. Cosgroves first touch awful ...Phillips not involved, Roberts poor....O Keef poor. Burton are a great watch....sharp,short passing, moving into space...they lack a decent striker by the looks (thank god). Great strike from Luca (keeper may be disappointed) but I'm struggling for anything positive to say ...oh yea we haven't conceded, other than that its poor. I wish we could bring on a striker but we don't have anyone who can lead the line. Come on reds big improvement required.
On seeing the replays, never a pen and their commentators are embarrassing themselves as they keep harping on about it. Their player was running away from the directon of goal, towards where the pen area disects the goal line, realised he wasn't getting the ball and took a dive. Never a pen.
Halftime thoughts: Great free kick, terrible performance. Connell is clearly injured, but if he takes freekicks like that... MDG is lucky to still be on the pitch Cosgrove looks extremely limited but at least he's trying to get in the game. Keillor-Dunn might as well not be there. I quite like the commentators. I don't think it was a penalty or a dive. There was contact, but they banged into each other. It happens. I remember a much more clear cut penalty at Burton when one of their defenders saved it with his hands on the line. The system is crap, but we didn't sign any strikers or fullbacks, so the manager is limited in what he can do. Recruitment team remain unfit for purpose.
Yep. He just ran in front of Craig. Unless he's a robot it's impossible for Craig to do anything else or stop that quick
The Burton comms are still saying that they have been robbed by that penalty and it was one of the most baffling decisions that they have ever seen. It was never a penalty. We need to massively improve, the passing and movement today has been terrible. Why do are players look like there running through quick sand
Yes, ironically it was the lad on the bench who got a yellow card who did that masterful illegal save - Brayford!
Weather forecasts have been more entertaining than the game, I'll happily take a crap performance and 3 points at this stage of the season though.
