    Strange first half.

    I thought we did quite well first 25 minutes and controlled play actually passing it around rather than hoofing it. But we’ve faded badly and if it continued like the last 20 minutes, we won’t win this.

    The problem is, even in those first 25 minutes… I don’t actually know what our tactics are other than hope something bobbles kindly, a set piece works or one of our players realise you’re allowed to head the ball at goal rather than flick it in with a shoulder.

    You look at our players and think from free play we should be more creative and dangerous. But reality and history tends to make a bit of a mockery of that expectation.

    To be fair, his tendency to disappear for long periods pre-dates this manager. It’s a pity because goal-scoring midfielders are worth their weight in gold.

    Some really nice touches from Earl, I thought. Poor from O'Keeffe though and I don't know what's happened to Connell's decision making. Is it because he's playing further forward?

    100% spot on most important position on the pitch playing that system, the emphasis we've put into playing that system over the past few years vs the emphasis on recruitment for wingbacks is appalling
