Some of you who probably don’t go to games need to put your teddies back in the cot. Talk about players being bottle jobs. Some of our ‘supporters’ are the biggest bottle jobs going.
I thought we absolutely gave it our all on an atrocious pitch. On another day we'd have won comfortably. That's football.
Was it really though ehh Frog kid lol. Were we really going to keep winning, and were the teams above us also really going to keep failing to win ?. It was asking too much I reckon. But hey ho lol, the season is certainly not over is it ehh.. no sir!!.
Had we won today when we should have got a pen and a man advantage, we'd be right on their asses. Wednesday were flying, look at their down fall. We were really in it mate imo
Ohh goodness me, the pen ehh and the man advantage, as it should have been. Yeah, where do we start when trying to explain that, and why it wasn't given... again!!.
This. ^^ Most laughable is reading the posts of some on here, who've slated some of these players, and, unbelievably, the manager at times this season and suggested we'd do well not to go down, NOW suggesting we've bottled the top two. You couldn't make it up. We've seven games to go. Owt could happen yet. Could get autos, could get playoffs, could drop out of the playoffs. We were good enough today, but the goalkeeping of Brayford and MacGillivray made the difference. I look forward to us having Isted and Collins in goal together on Monday.
Just on the way home. As has been mentioned above, we gave it everything today and it just wasn't our day. The referee had an absolute mare. Every minor decision he could give, on and off the ball, he gave. What epitomised his game today was when their keeper dropped the ball under pressure from his own defender, and was awarded a free kick. They weren't great, and scored with their only two sights of goal, then made it difficult for us. We scored our only clear cut chance (barring the one Brayford saved). It was just one of them.
Dirty side Burton but it’s a big surprise that the fool with the whistle managed to book six of them. Shame he couldn’t have gone up to those two clowns in the crowd who refused to give the ball back near the end. He should have looked directly at them , pointed to his watch and then put three fingers up to indicate three more mins to add to the seven. But that would have taken courage wouldn’t it, and these people who claim to be qualified referees don’t have any.
It was, even I could see it 100 yards away in the away end. The ref today was abysmal, gave a free kick to Burton for every little coming together. Ignored the blatant timewasting "injuries" and "cramp", not to mention the goalkeeper strolling about like it's a lovely spring day and he hasn't a care in the world. You can see where Brad Collins learned his tricks from. And don't mention the "portly" linesman at our end, the best entertainment of the day was watching him attempt to keep up with play. I think BFC really should make a formal complaint to the FA and Football League about today's officials.
Just gutted. We weren’t at our best today but we shouldn’t have needed to be. It should’ve been a pen with a chance to take the lead & playing against 10 men for 80 mins. It feels like automatic promotion has gone but we can hope Ipswich or Plymouth blow up like Wednesday have.
Had the pen been given I doubt their player would have got a red card. Needs to be deliberate handball to get that.
I thought it was deliberate. Also, I thought it was a straight red for stopping an almost certain goal scoring opportunity.
No problem with the players graft today. First half lacking quality, second half much better and absolutely thrown everything at it towards the end. What I'm beyond furious about, is the penalty decision. People keep saying 'evens itself out'. There's absolutely no evening happening whatsoever. The decisions are just getting worse. That referee should be sanctioned in some way, after that decision. That decision is as bad as you are ever likely to see in football. There should be a formal response from Howard Webb/PGMOL. These mind-bogglingly awful refereeing decisions just can't be allowed to keep going unanswered. I don't want other teams to suffer. I don't want refs being abused. I don't want us to be given dodgy decisions to 'even things up'. I just want refs to do their jobs. And when they don't, I want them to be held accountable. Just like every single other person on the planet, who has a job.
Not really. We just rarely go behind so every time we do it's when we're having an off day. Nothing to do with being bad at coming back imo
It most certainly was deliberate. The worst thing was that the referee clearly saw it, as he waved his hands to signal no penalty immediately. So it would be nice to know whether the ref ‘saw” it come off the player’s leg, in which case he needs dropping from the list, as his eyes aren’t up to the job, or, if not, what his justification was for waving play on. We’ll never know though, cos referee’s can’t be questioned. A big decision though, as you would have expected us to have won against the ten men, and there’s big implications, as it has pretty much ended our automatic promotion push. I think we have to be writing to the Football League to complain about this one, but it’s not going to give us the points we lost. And we came so close to learning who our penalty taker is!
