I've thought for a few years now that Oxford should be doing better in this league, they can be a footballing team, but maybe a little bit too much. It bugs me that the dirty garbage spoiling teams (like Wycombe and Shrewsbury) actually do better than those who do try to play a bit. We took a long time to get going, but the goal was massive and you felt then that there was only one team in it. Its a shame that Teddy didn't get a hat trick btw.
I've just watched the Sky highlights and I hadn't realised just how good our two goals were, both of which came from excellent balls in from Adam Phillips. He had one fizzing shot all game I think but those two assists were immaculate. Of course you need a sharp striker on the end of them and Slobodan was certainly that today, hence his MOM award. Had it not been for those two goals though it was a toss up between Isted and Kitching for me. Our keeper's two fantastic saves made sure that we won the game and he was confident all through the match coming out and collecting, and then good distribution to follow. Kitch was his usual marauding self and pulled off one of his trademark diagonal balls which dropped to Williams who cut it back to Phillips, who then laid on that first goal. It was quiet at times in the stands and very noisy at other times. I suspect it will be like Derby and Wednesday when Ipswich turn up on Tuesday. I can't wait for that one . Another competent, professional performance today against decent opposition and I see no reason why we can't get at least 7 points, and maybe 9, from the last three games. Then it's all down to what the others do, and there is nothing we can about that.
What's with playing music when we score? The only noise we should hear is the fans cheering. If we must go all American with goal music then there is about a million songs better than the instrumental of Zombie Nation.
