He was immaculate again. Love the way he collects a ball, turns away from an attacker and then finds himself with plenty of time to play it forward. Funny how the handful of Fleetwood fans were booing him every time he touched it. Their loss, our HUGE gain
Looking forward to a crowd approaching 20,000 next week, safety concerns permitting. Bet it's closer to 16 though
In the first half it wasn't really working. The pitch was awful, the midfield was getting bypassed. McCart wasn't up to speed and was having a bad time. A well worked goal but cancelled out by a stunner the like of which they'll likely not score again all season. Second half Barnsley really grew into it. Space started to open up. Another well worked goal. With a little more composure at key times Barnsley could have gone further ahead. Pines looked assured. He won everything in the air, as expected, but was also tested in a foot race, which he passed. Overall the best performance for some matches.
Ref could easily have given a pen against Cole. All our bookings were justified. Nothing wrong with this ref. We had a touch of extra class that shone just about sufficiently, despite the conditions. Well done reds!
James Collins has done his ankle ligaments and is out for the season…. they’re also signing Dwight Gayle today
Thought Fleetwood’s number 5 had a right game in midfield and ran the show at times , I wouldn’t mind him here.
Thought first half it was quite even but second half we moved the ball a bit better and created chances easier. Another good away result and now on to the Derby game, which is a pretty “massive” game. Is it scarf day? It worked last season.
Bet your well chuffed with Cosgrove tonight pal, took his goal well and hopefully he will now kick on eh
Im not saying the cards weren’t justified, what I am saying is that there were times when he could/should have shown a card or 2 to the Fleetwood players.
Great win today against an awkward opponent in bad conditions. Derby’s last minute winner the only blot on the day.
You described him as "biased". And thus not refereeing fairly. I disagree with that. Hence my post. I thought he was fair to both sides.
