Don’t get Watters at all, he has the nerve to take a penalty like that, but looks lost in front of goal in open play!

Chuffed for everyone that travelled tonight. Proper performance and well deserved win. Best I've seen us play for a long, long time. Gunna have a great season when ball starts going in. (Hopefully sooner rather than later :)).

He shouldn't be starting a new season lacking confidence but that penalty put a big smile on his face so let's hope.

Luca’s apart, 4 confidently well taken pens. Hope Watters can use this a spring board now and take confidence

Yes. It was one of the most ridiculous sending offs I've seen at Oakwell. I think everyone in the ground called it as soon as the incident took place and Watters acred like he'd done nowt wrong.

So what have we learnt. The new keeper can save pens. John Steads coaching isn't working. Our strikers are not taking their opportunity to step up, real shame. Really hope they can but have seen very little from them over last and this season to suggest a natural goalscorer amongst them.

Yeah. Guess what our lad means is modelled his attacking game on him.

Other than Earle and MDG giving the ball away and gifting them chances, we dominated that. And we carried a few players. Connell (apart from his pen), Watters (apart from that miss), and Phillips were way too strong for them.

Watters is WAY better than Cosgrove. OK, he missed a chance, but his confidence must be low. I think he looks decent and our best striker at the moment.
Team played well second half, played the rugby boys off the park.

Watched the last half hour. Hugely entertaining - we played some lovely stuff. Clear we need a striker or two. Watters' running and link-up play were excellent. Looked far more of a footballer than Cosgrove. I'm sure the goals will come.

Personally on Saturday I'd either start him and Marsh, or considering the quality we have in midfield, would play him on his own with Phillips in just behind.

Defensively - Lopata is far better than Earl or MDG, and will benefit massively from playing alongside Robbo. If 3 at the back then Lopata, Robbo and Pines would be my choice, or just Robbo and Pines with Gent or Lofthouse on the left and Barry or O'Keefe on the right.

But then I'm not our manager, because on the grand scheme of things I don't know very much about football.

They should take a lot of confidence from that.
Keeper and Pines looked good USA
Connell Phillips Watters took us up a level in the second half.
    Loved Russell's snd Earls penalty.
Watters showed guts in taking his.
More game time for Craig and Gent.
    Thought Lopata looked strong.

It was a poor penalty from Connell, but had the keeper dived we'd have said what a penalty too. Just looks silly going down middle when keeper doesn't dive, bit like a panenka haha.

Thought Connell was exceptional when he came on. Russell played very well again. Cotter all over the pitch, did well, but so wasteful with good chances, Watters missing sitters again. But I think we absolutely dominated that second half, fully deserved a win. Thought young Vimal did very well on the ball, obviously off the ball needs some work! Overall, a very good performance but crying out for some strikers.
