1 Point away at Ipswich, 3 points away at Wednesday, 3 points away at Peterborough, 3 points at home to Charlton, 1 point away at Bolton, 1 point away at Portsmouth. Is that really an awful record or you just being negative for negative sake again?

Phew! Four points from two potentially tricky away matches in a few days is a decent return, for me. A late equaliser away from home is always a great feeling and we don't do many draws this season.
    Well done, lads.

    THAT THROW IN

I've just rewound it to minute 88 and we get a throw in level with the edge of the area but the ball is a good twenty yards down the line. Kane thinks about taking it from there but luckily Cadden calls for the ball to be tossed to him. Then we see Cotter sprinting a good forty yards from the central area, obviously saying "I fancy this one!" Cadden knows what is coming so reaches for the towel to dry the ball. Then......well, a thing of beauty!

I've seen many long throws over the years result in goals but rarely in our favour. This was magnificent! He arrowed it in at real pace, right into the six yard box. Pompey couldn't cope with it and the ball flicked on to Super Striker Bobby Thomas and he scored a well deserved equaliser.

Good as Jordan Williams is, and consistently so, I think his place might be under threat now. Cotter's cameo performance was a revelation, topped by that pitch length sprint near the end from his own box to theirs to chase down a back pass. He looks like an inspired signing. They ALL do and I cannot see us finishing below sixth next May. Great game in the end, almost spoiled by the fool with the whistle, but proper edge of the seat stuff.

Well done boys. Brilliant week we've had!

He is being negative for no reason. That's plainly obvious.

Robbed out of 3 again. These refs need a bullet.

Thought we was decent today. Especially first half.

Although Cole cant start anymore games. Shaw or jalo for me. Jalo may not be ready but he will offer no less than cole. Hes younger and worth the time. Cole is a waste of time. Too many wasted opportunites.

Shame because cole seems a good lad

    Worthy point.

    Mediocre second half for us.

Watters looked useful. Cole and Collins didn't.

Just got back from watching the game at my brothers on his erm.. device. 1st half played decent and dominated play but could and should’ve gone in at least 2- 0 up. Second half, totally baffling performance, what the hell was said at half- time? Once again the Ref takes centre stage with what was an appalling decision, made even worse by him being perfectly positioned. Just half a second delay on blowing his whistle would’ve seen us score. It’s not like the Pompey players stopped for the whistle because it happened so fast. Absolutely terrible. Back to us, why do we lose our composure and game plan at the first set- back, absolutely baffling against mediocre opponents

We struggle to beat the very best. Those teams we are likely to have to play three times in the play offs.

We have 4 points away against 2 of the very best already. Everyone will always struggle against the best, because they're the best. Weve managed points from them before, no reason we can't again. Especially with these new signings

Jordan Williams had a great game, capped by 2 great goal saving tackles in the area, Cotter took a throw in? Early days for the newcomers but they had the desired impact. I see a nucleus of a good team developing here. But glad we kept Jordan, he's a real asset for us

Not deriding Williams at all - he DID have a great game with some magnificent last ditch tackles. All I am saying is that I was excited by the impact Cotter made and someone with his pace will cause problems for anyone in this league. We are so lucky to have options all over the field now. Good recruitment.

Hell - even Josh Martin had a decent twenty minutes or so, and we've not seen that much. I think everyone of our side did their job. Collins fluffed a couple of catches and was poor trying to stop their disallowed goal but he's still our best option for me, unless the new lads behind him are exceptional.

He fluffed one cross, miss kicked it straight to their midfielder and then as you say, should have done better against their offside goal. I think he definitely has a niggling injury. Hopefully overcomes it though if he does. Although if he is struggling surely its worth starting another keeper instead of risking it getting worse?

A point probably a fair result in the end but the ref has had a mare for disallowing Cole’s goal

I think you will eventually conclude there to be no real choice to be made between Williams J and Cotter when it comes to starting in the first team.

I don’t know what some people want and expect I really don’t.

A point away at Portsmouth is never a bad result.

To take four points from two tricky away games in a few days, having had a perfectly good equaliser chalked off by an, at best, inept referee today too, that is good. Very good. We are top six on merit as things stand.

    Here’s hoping that continues.

I still worry about the forward line for the rest of the season. The sides behind us aren’t too far behind and we aren’t going to score for fun. Nobody is frightened as a defender if they are facing Devante Cole. He was never great, sometimes ok, but his current form is really poor.

Watters isn’t fully fit yet but him, Shaw and Norwood have to be the starters for me. Cole looks shorn of confidence, lacking in ability and completely downhearted. He needs a rest and a seat for a few weeks.

We don’t concede too many so we might get away with it. But whilst we are decent for this level in two thirds of the field, the forward line isn’t top six quality. Hopefully it will be enough.
