    I struggle with what to think about the fa cup these days. I really want a cup run and expect the players to do their best to provide it but it has to be said, this tournament isn’t a priority - we won’t win it and the prize/tv money for the rounds we could realistically reach isn’t massive - it’s hard to see the players seeing it as vital as the league games.

    I can sort of understand a lethargic performance to be honest.

    That said we should see these off today.

    Interesting observation by the commentator just then; Barnsley keep winning the ball back from Vale, but can't do anything with it in the final third. Sounds familiar.

    Radio DeeDah commentator described the Vale keeper as the son of Stuart Ripley, “the ex Middlesbrough winger” … Not the ex Barnsley winger. ️
