Who picks and coaches them?

 

Good result. Not great in the second half but ultimately they weren't good enough to take advantage and a very good team goal saw us get the points. I had Barnsley double chance, btts and over 2 goals at 8/5 so I'm extra chuffed. However, I did cash out at 80 minutes and the peace of mind in the last 10 minutes cost me 65p - it was bloody worth it

 

Collins does.

He's got another win with a makeshift defence - which today was even weaker than what Khaled gave him at the start of the season.

Onwards and upwards.

 

Its a poor league, But we are not a great side ourselves especially when put under pressure.

 

Collins does coach them but there's absolutely no excuses for so all called "professional" footballers failing to do the basics. That's on them and if they can't do the basics then they may as well go to Athersley Rec.

 

So we agree responsibility lies with Collins. Good’ if somewhat fortunate win.

A makeshift defence isn’t one defender being injured and replacing them with another defender. Still Collins fails to pick Cadden who is probably the best player in his position in the league so there’s that.

 

collins coaches defensive organisation. We have none. That absolutely on him. A manager incapable of training professional players the basics of defending.

 

The responsibility for picking the team lies with Collins yes - and those players he's picking have the opportunity to be 4th in the league with a midweek win.

With Pompey slipping up, and lots of the better teams playing each other in the upcoming weeks, we may even be higher.

 

Deserved three points and a terrific winning goal. Not at our best, but three points are three points. With the likes of Connell, McCart & Pines still to come into the matchday squad, I'm definitely a content bunny tonight.

 

Been to watch the Rec today. Full blooded and committed performance. Drew 0-0 against a team who can afford to pay a transfer fee in the NcEL. Their chairman was an absolute gobsh*te as well.

 

Can't believe how many times we either miss kick or swing a leg and miss it all together, to put our selves in trouble

 

And so called players should be able to do the basics, no excuses. Players in general need to start taking more responsibility instead of hiding behind the manager / coach. They are professional footballers after all.

 

First half we were all over them and deserved to go in front.

Second half I thought they should’ve scored before they did and after they did equalise, it looked like only 1 team would win it from there.

Great winning goal though. Then we played the game out well from there.

 

If were gonna change tactics in 2nd half to hoof ball Phillips,Kane, Styles and Cadden need to push up on the knock down and win the 2nd ball. too many times their defence pulled it down and passed to the midfield who then put us under pressure..

Jack Hunt looked a different class when he came on.

Agreed! Think Roberts is back to how he was pre injury which is a plus too!

A big goal for us at an important time, when it sounded like they were having their best part of the game. And we fought to hold on for a 2-1 win. Hey, I'd have happily taken that result before kick off.
If we can do the same against Carlisle in the upcoming game in hand, then it shows we're still thinking about the top two.
