Chuffed with the result, all to play for. Bradford curry on route then carry them over the line with some very vocal support. Drive back home wake the dog but hopefully not the wife. Up the reds! Friday looking decent.
Hello United Kingdom This is the vote from the Maltese jury BFC 10 puants Bolton 4 puants Pub owner’s sky reception for 35 minutes of the second half- nil puants We were the best team But it’s still a 50/50 tie
19 shots to 7 shows we were far too poor at taking our chances. The old saying of you're at your most vulnerable when you've just scored, popped up again today. A team score and get super excited. The team who conceed regroup and focus quicker.
An interesting take on the oppo's forum!! https://www.wanderersways.com/forum...y-off-1st-leg/?do=findComment&comment=2465823
That is rather ironic isn’t it? Or sarcasm maybe. Maybe they blurred out their 2 heavy, late challenges early doors. And the tactics for both teams too.
Have you watched it again? I'm sort of in the middle on this. I do think it's an error by Isted but not a terrible one. I think he gives himself too much to do by taking up the wrong starting position, being too close to the near post. And I think he does that because a few have gone past him at the near post recently and he wanted to make sure that didn't happen again. I also think that because I believe Collins should have been brought back into the side that I'm not in the best position to judge. It's interesting that so many people have gone for Trafford as MOTM. He did well when coming out to block Tedic in the first half and Thomas in the second. Pretty much everything else he had to do was routine other than Cadden's shot that went in and Connell's free kick which he fluffed. A much bigger error than Isted's; the shot was struck hard and was moving a bit but went straight at him. But Trafford got away with it as we failed to capitalise. Isted didn't. Trafford got MOTM and Isted is the villain.
Agree with all of this but I guess the reason why he got MOTM was the two 1 on 1 saves, they were brilliant and to some extent the equivalent of scoring a couple of goals. Had a striker scored a couple he would probably have got MOTM. I thought he was the difference between the two sides, and has kept them in the tie.
Yes, I have, and that's exactly the conclusion I came to. Literally just been chatting to @Jimmy viz about the game and said pretty much the same thing.
I'm biased of course lol, but I think we should be bringing a 1 goal advantage back home. What pleased me most though is we really did turn up today and had a go, totally different to what we've seen in the end of season games. Up the Duff lol, we've got to feel confident for the home leg, but I know they/Bolton will be dangerous!.
Looking at both those saves they would be ones I would expect any keeper to save. The angle is against the attacking player on both occasions Tedic would have only scored if he lifted his shot to Cole as there were two Bolton players heading towards the goalline and I think Bobby Thomas lost his moment of advantage when he should have shot low with power rather than take the extra touch and then try to chip the keeper again with players back for Bolton.
