This downturn in performances is a result of a poor recruitment plan, this summer was awful & it’s showing.
Nothing new here. We've looked pretty ordinary at the back most of the season which is rather concerning when we have a former defender as our head coach. Some of our defenders can't even do the basics.
Another disjointed half of football where we've sat very deep and relied on a few hopeful crosses into the box to get a goal. I'd like to see us push everyone 20 yards up the pitch and put some genuine pressure on Bradford.
I know it’s a nowt competition and we were never going to play anything like a full strength side but if folk a Literally, it’s a nowt competition and you never expect a full strength side but if they expect folk to pay to watch it , the side that turns out should be more competitive than this one!
The summer recruitment was shocking, particularly defensively. We’re reaping the effects of that now the season is in full swing. Collins’ tactics though are just so one dimensional and predictable. The fans are bored rigid and the players are starting to look the same.
This definitely highlights how much Liam Roberts covered over our defensive cracks. I think it's easy to forget we sold two out of our three starting centre backs this summer (both were captains at the time) and we lost both our keepers when we talk about how bad our defence is. Collins hasn't pulled any trees up by any means but he's a carpenter working with Spaghetti for a hammer.
I'm sure one of the players wouldn't mind nipping out the ground to go fetch you one. It would be more use than what they are showing on the pitch
