Blame Clarke all you want but he didn’t miss the chances we created, unless I am missing something. Roberts was poor today but prior to his injury was playing well, I would expect Clarke got told by his medical/fitness team that he was ready to play.
Are “people” the professional Director of Football we employ to analyse players and highlight targets? A yes or no answer will suffice.
Thought for a long time we had decent strikers for this league, after t'day i'm not sure, still in top 6. keep the faith, C,O,Y,R.
I suspect that Farrugia is more a winger than a wing-back. But we have only had this one system for a few seasons now, and it seems that players have to be shoe-horned into it despite their actual attributes. To be honest, it does my head in. Anyway, we should have won at a canter today. If we don’t sign a decent striker this month I think we can all assume that the absolute best we can hope for is to squeak into the playoffs.
We don’t see them in training so hard to say imo. We have been collectively shyyte at the back for 18 month, maybe he thinks Roberts has the the experience to make them gel?....I am of the opinion that we need another centre back as well as the obvious need for more firepower up front. Can’t keep conceding all these goals, Cloughie always said you don’t lose if you don’t concede. If we go up we will go up with worst defence to ever get promotion. Hope we do btw ha
We’re so easy to score against it’s frightening. We’re on track to concede 60 plus in the third tier, Christ knows what Championship sides would do to us. Got to get there first mind….
Well, it was Clarke who decided to put Roberts and Connell back in from the start. They were both at fault for goals conceded. They both performed poorly. We'd just won four on the bounce. Against Crawley, we were 3-0 up and cruising and then he brought Roberts and Connell on. The last 25 minutes were very poor. It's probably the first time I've criticised his selections. And I stand by it. Because I have eyes.
MDF truly fascinates me - not in a good way - I’m obsessed with how such a poor player can get a game every single week. So obsessed I have become I’ve booked a cruise in April to answer my own question of which is quicker to turn - MDF or a passenger ship
Not going to get every signing right Cosgroves been gash for ages even though you and others predicted him to come good after the Bolton games. If they had sold him in the summer after the 2 play off games where he played well you and others would have been moaning can't win.
We've won are last 2 home games,we might start winning at home and not doing so well playing away, your lucks gonna run out if you keep playing away
If watters scored the one on one or the other chances to make it one nil it's a different game. Could see what was going to pan out after the misses. I agree with what you say about Roberts and connell though but the defeat was down to not taking the early chances in the 1st 40 minutes.
Apart from ability of course, there is also a fair amount of luck in breaking into the first team, and even then holding a regular place. How much money do you think we’ll save by scrapping it then? We’ve had a fair few who have, and still are, playing at a higher level than us after failing to make a breakthrough here. Turn our back on the local youth and they will go elsewhere
Agreed. He’s been given so many chances for half of a season and not delivered. Why not try one of the U21 strikers. They can’t be worse.
