The recruitment team knew that McAtee was a loan that we couldnt afford to buy and that Cole was leaving by Jan at the latest. Yes it doesn’t all lie with the current occupant but by the time he was in post we needed 3 or 4 forwards. He delivered none. In itself I can understand that but you would have been working on delivering something very early in the transfer window.

I’m not naïve lots of clubs need a forward and it’s not easy but that’s what we pay him for.

Again all that is absolutely irrelevant Cole was never staying. So again should someone employed to evaluate the current team and highlight and deliver transfer targets know more than people posting on a notice board. Again it’s a yes or no question.

Not one to bring in random facts. David Currie was amazing when we signed him should he still be playing up front

I don't argue against anything you've put forward there, but and there is a but we need to get players out which can be more problematic.
If players won't move or there's a lack of suitors how do we get players in if we can't free up funds first?
I'm not here to defend Mladen or the recruitment team but the window is still very much open, historically this window is difficult and clubs are often waiting to get players in before letting players leave, I'll reserve judgement until the window closes, if we fail to address the situation then fair cop

Well they should do yes. But at the end of the day everything they do is trying to make us fans happy.
They haven't purposely said right let's keep Cosgrove he's had 2 good games against Bolton but he's going to be **** so we will keep him, also we know watters needs 40 chances to score 1 goal so keep him aswell and we will bring In Humphrys he has 1 good game every 10 he will be great.
In fairness fans moan about signing lower league players but both Cosgrove and watters came from championship sides. Just transfers some will work many won't I imagine Cosgrove is a good earner aswell.

I would say that both transfer windows are difficult for Barnsley at this moment in time.
