I'd be swapping Gent at half time he's been poor. Touch like Sutcliffes hammer aswell. Get the new lad on.

I agree. Looked Roberts at fault to me. Having said that we should be out of sight. Desperately need a decent striker.

I wonder how many clean she’s we have kept during his 60 game run of appearances. Probably 5 or 6. He’s a complete defensive liability.

Looking at the chances we create would it not make sense to take a risk and splash a million on a decent striker or are this board happy for us to stagnate in this division for years.

Imho...played well for large parts of the game. Their keeper has been very good and unfortunately i never fancy Watters in a one v one.
We really should be strolling this...but if you can't finish, you are struggling.
I'd take off Gent and Russell....for the new lad and Nwakali and do it now.....tell them to start zipping it about a bit more and keep those shots coming.

You should know by now that every goal conceded is the fault of MdG.

I genuinely think we’ve played well & will still win this. These look the worst team that I’ve seen defensively. I just hope their manager doesn’t find a way for them to tighten it up second half.

Personally, I'd be fuming if I was Connor McCarthy. He's been immediately dropped now Roberts is back from injury, what did he do wrong? He looked strong, assured on the ball. What kind of message does it send to him, and anyone else, if you're dropped back to the bench immediately?

Roberts was at fault for their goal too iirc. Also, Connell...he's not as good as Nwakali, a blind man can see this. Get Kelechi on Darrell, please. Humphrys for Watters is a must too. I'd also like to see Ferrugia for Gent at some point.

If we get one, we'll end up getting 4 in my opinion. We've allowed them onto us and ultimately back in the game. That's not good enough.

    COYR!!!!

Their Keeper looks class, he made some worldies in the cup game aswell, I'd definitely be keeping tabs on him, his contract is up in the summer with WBA, nearing 100 games at this level, at 23 be an excellent acquisition, I'd say get a bid in now if we've any spare change.

The problem is we have a defence who despite what the manager says is always likely to concede at least one goal a game and the poorest set of strikers we've had at Oakwell for years, a fact that was known about at the beginning of the summer window and yet here we are over half way through the winter window and the issue is still the same and still costing us points. Somebody at the club needs to get it sorted quickly.

The attack also initially started down the left with Sinclair in acres of space. Just a poor goal to concede for all of our defenders really.

The positive is they can't keep missing chances against their awful defence. They have to score eventually, even if it's accidental. Humps on.

He's taken DKD off! Bugger me.

Happy to eat my words mind.

Watters is blackmailing DC, I'm sure of it.

We've been casual with the ball and sloppy with our decision making. They set up with their pants down and deserved to be battered yet we've been far too wasteful and complacent. Need an early goal to get back into the game and get some control. Good to see Humphry's coming on.

Surprised at DKD coming off. Think Humphrys will score here.

One problem is Connell is playing that poor he’s not creating a good enough price for us to sell him!

Yeah, their goal should have been a consolation to make the scoreline look a bit respectable.

DKD inured? That could be disastrous.

MDG or MDF plays every week - a favourite
Connell - when fit - plays
Roberts - when fit - straight into the starting 11
Earl - plays even half fit

what message does this send to the squad - those picked - I’m going to play no matter how well I play (eg MDG) those not in the clique - what’s the point. I cannot see that McCarthy and Pines have been worse than this favoured back 3 - but the manager has favourites. It’s the same with the midfield. Today we will be making changes again - probably 5 before 60 mins. Play players in firm - play players fit and play players who are desperate to play.
