Don't you mean, in front of witnesses? The guy should

have been banged up, now your mate is instead, his life in tatters and not the real culprit. Can't do the vigilante stuff, it's not the wild west.

    RE: Very Harsh Considering..........

That release is disgraceful! However in no way does it make this sentance any more harsh! It simply means there are inconsistencies in the justice system, which ultimately means a failure in the justice system. I think a 12 month sentance for causing very serious harm is fair. Bear in mind Ali's mate will be eligible for automatic parole in 6 months and this offence can warrant a 7 year sentance!

Whichever way you try and dress it up

He got what he deserved. He commited a crime and got punished for it, simple as that.

Whether there's another story in the background has **** all to do with it. Maybe next time he'll think with his head instead of his fists.

    and????

so they GBH'd someone? if there are no no extenuating circumstances then so what? if they twitted some lad and got GBH rather than ABH or Assault of ABH then it musta been pretty **** n they deserve whatever. Admittedly, normally GBH is 3 months or probation but to get 12 months means there has either been a miscarriage of justice or they are a lovely person who deserves it. Or they stuck up 4 someone and thought **** the consequences

i wanna think like a lovely person but i can'y - if that was my sister god help the fecker who started on her

    domestic violence then?

if it'd have been on my sister or my mum i'd have mashed every fecker in the entire world. if that is the case then i'd be locked up too

thing is - if my sisters boyf twitted her i'd wanna kill him. but, by doing that i'd be putting myself in the ****. what wud my sis rather have? a boyf who is a lovely person and is dumped or the same with her big brother in the nick?
    i wonder..........

    How do you know that?

What experiance do you have of working in this area? I would guess none and that it is the usual piss and wind that you spout. I work within the criminal justice system and in my experiance the courts usually get it right. With the Human Rights Act there is too much to lose by getting it wrong and you will find that the agencies with in the CJS have become more robust in dealing wit these matters over the past five years.

Rather than posting the usual gungho nonsense I would suggest that you actually take some time to actually research what is happening within the Courts, Police, Prison and probation services. Although I realise that this might be beyond your intelligence.

I suppose thats me at the top of windys childish hitlist... but thts a badge I would wear with honour.
