same reason as they dont when going to the HoC as well - our current cabinet is the worst since WW2 by some distance - all picked purely because they promised to see Brexit through come what may and do as they were told by Cummings. the competent ones were banished to the back benches, the competent ones that had any balls got deselected

To be fair it shouldn't have happened in the first place. These are not qualified staff so their role is limited rather to that of a band 2 and 3 but are being paid a band 4. There will only be a short period of time after they finish working before they take up their new full-time jobs as qualified nurses. They will be able to stay until end of contract if they still have competencies and grading outstanding. The majority will have earned more in these few months than they would have been able to over a year normally because of placements and uni restrictions.
So like I said to be fair many will remain to the end of the 'contract'.
Also those finishing on July 31st will receive their final monthly wage at the end of August which sees them through September and up to their new jobs.

But they've had to do their uni work on top. Typical penny pinching by the govt, treat them like crap now so they know what they've got coming!!

It's actually frightening that they have so much power, with so little competence.

There'll be arguments over decisions they took, whether they followed the science etc... But anything that has required any actual detail and planning has been woeful. Contact tracing being the latest one (I suspect if SAGE were to be asked to publish KPIs on what they considered to be a robust tracing system, current figures would be nowhere near). Only possible exception could be the building of the Nightingale hospitals. But even they ended up being unused during a health crisis which has left countless people with non-Covid illnesses being left untreated, as well as one of, if not the worst Covid death toll in the world.
