I haven't personally blasted anyone, let alone winnall.

I don't come on here slagging players off. I leave that for Hemsworth Tyke.

No one's picked fault with him have they?

How is saying he'd be better suited as a centre half picking fault?

Are you related to him or summat?

I just find it really odd. Hecky sees him as a left back, Accrington saw him as a left back but a fan of Barnsley says they're all wrong and he's actually a center back....

He's a utility man fella, when the cavare deal is done I expect Pearson to be on the bench. I know players read this board and with these lads being young I just think certain comments will be quite damaging to them.

Not having a go pal, it's a game of opinions but yano...

They shouldn't read it. It's for fans to vent etc

He had his hands on his hips after 24 minutes and was looking over at the bench. His concentration seemed to go for a few minutes as he was caught ball watching a couple of times and lost his man. I thought he wanted to come off. But afterwards he got better. He linked up nicely with Hedges in particular and Moncur for his chance.

So he's a utility player, and when we have a full back he'll be on the bench?

How is that different to me saying he looks more like a centre half than a full back?

If someone is going to get upset about me saying that I think they'd make a better centre half than a full back, then they really need stay away from this board, as far worse is said on a regular basis.

If we played Angus or Jackson at left back and they had a decent game, would you say that made them full backs? Course not.

We're talking about specialised positions in the second tier of English football.

As long as it's not abusive and overtly negative then they shouldn't have a problem with it. When I use to do the fanzine back in the day Gerry Taggart and Brendan were always buying it to see if we were taking the piss out of them and took it well. Later I got chased by Dave Regis who had been 'constructively criticised' he's a big lad but he just wanted to buy a copy. No need to be so precious.

I called Hemsworth Tyke a "fecking prune" yesterday.

I bet that would be mortally wounding for today's players.

Yeah, think Darfield got monk on. To clarify, I like him. But he looked fukced. Thats all. It would not surprise me if he fractured his leg early doors but played on. He's the type who would do that.

I have once broke my leg and tore my acl at the same time.

I still had more pace than Matthew Pearson.

He was outplayed by Iorfa, most of the game. Got nearly no support. Was roasted from about 15 mins onward.

Looks like a centre half to me. Strong in the air with a better head than a right foot.

Seemed to be running backwards after about ten minutes.

Can anyone settle a debate about Pearson that was going on amongst those sat round me yesterday?

I thought he's a right-sided player who played at right back for Accy, but is good on his left and comfortable kicking with it. Some others think he's naturally left footed.

    Which is it??!!

I'm waiting for an accrington fan to get back to me with a reply to that. Apparently he played all across their back 4 because of injuries last season.

In Pearsons own words "sometimes I feel like I'm a centre half, sometimes a full back".

Quality of opposition is much higher at this level. You need players in their best positions.

Be fantastic if he's a genuinely two-footed player.

There's definitely something in him even if he struggled later on yesterday and looks as though he'll be useful when he's that versatile.

I just hope we won't need him to play at either full back position.

Sooner have him as a two footed centre back.

Saw pinock for first time on Tuesday. Poor with headers but athletic and decent on the floor. Maybe a better bet for a go at full back?
