I think that was his point mate. Fans use stats to bash players but they're so easily manipulated to fit someones agenda
Because he's not rubbish or some of the other vitriolic stuff said about him. I'm just waiting for "he's won a raffle to be a footballer" line for a full bingo card. He wouldn't be in my starting eleven but I'm not going to start hurling abuse at one of our players. If the players had left the club at the point they were being ripped apart by these "experts"we'd never have got 10 games out of any of Cole, Andersen, Kithching etc.
Exactly Frog, that's more or less what I've also suggested above. On the back of losing Norwood at the worst possible time, what would some of these fans thought if we'd risked starting the season with the lad Marsh up front, as one of our main strikers. He would have been on an absolute hiding to nothing!.
Yeah that point goes whooshing above some peoples heads. Cosgrove today offered little but we aren’t bashing him. We have clearly signed Watters for his good goals to minutes ratio and Cosgrove for his hold up play. It’ll take a while for either or both to come good. It’s too early to know if they will
Yep, we've had plenty of players over the years who started poorly then turned good for us. You'd think as a fanbase we'd learn by now!
i just cant see it devante was bone idol in his loan spell here as a young pup, lazy again & out of his depth in schopp/asbag season but i saw enough to suggest he could come good in league one not seen anything from watters
Let's face it. The most memorable thing Watters has done while he's been here is elbow someone and walk off from the referee
It was a response to the OP stating his stats are crap. By any analysis they are good. His goals to minutes ratio Is the best at the club. Doesn’t mean he will cut it here. Just that the oP was wrong and you can spin stats anyway you like but Watters are good.
Also when you don't always get starts it looks better than it is. Someone could have zero starts but have 20 goals. Stats are what you make them.
No they aren't. Not even close. Marsh's is a lot better. Coles is much better including his poor first stint for us about 8 years ago. McAtee's is better too. I mean sure if you ignore those three then yeah it is but as they actually exist then no he's not even close
Marsh isn’t currently at the club. You can’t disregard stats because they don’t suit your narrative. goals per game cole 0.25. Watters 0.29 mcatee 0.21 marsh 0.06 league goals only
You said goals per minute. Coles is better than Watters with or without his previous stint. McAtee's is better too. You've been proven wrong and so have made edits to change your argument to something totally different
you understand that Watters 0.29 means basically 1 in 3 games. Coles 0.25 means 1 in 4. McAtees means 1 in 5. Marsh 1 in god knows how many. So in 1 match how many minutes do you think there are? stats can show anything Dallas has one of the best ratios we have ever had. Means not very much.
Watters has played 28 league games for us and scored 5 goals. Now I'm no Rachel Riley but that is not one in three... Of course if you disregard his stats for us and start including his stats for another team a few years ago in league two he looks better but so does oddjob
