Re: McCourt. Who's he got to pass to though? Dawson, Etuhu or O'Brien. Hardly worth it is it really.

That said, I think he'd be better coming off the bench from now on.

He's the equivalent of putting one of the harlem globetrotters in with a regular basketball team. It wouldn't work.

He's not a team player and needs to go.

Top players who are man marked move around and work to try and find space, Paddy doesn't care and is happy to be a passenger.

I can't believe some of the nonsense I read on here about how Paddy is a flair player so doesn't need to work for the team.

He's costing us points. It's a similar situation to Fulham playing Berbatov & Ruiz, you might get the odd bit of brilliance but for 95% of the time they're a liability.

Wilson needs to do the same to Paddy as Mourinho has with the flair players at Chelsea and tell him either start playing as a member of a team or do one.

How about getting players around him ?

To me trying to play him off a front man didn't work.

With the players that were available yesterday how about

    Steele

    Wiseman Cranie Ramage Nyatanga

    Hassell/Dawson Mellis

    O' Brien Mc Court Cywza

    O Grady

    Worth a try ?

You read the game as I do. Those who sing his praises are deluded. Another Flitcroft error.

Aye we can be left with a team of honest toilers who get us relegated to the old 4th division. I never saw Ronnie Glavin tackle anybody or track back I guess we should have ditched him and Little Martin Bullock oh and Clint Marcelle he was noted for his all round defensive qualities..,

To succeed in this league you don't need a team full of toilers you need 8 or 9 toilers with 2 or 3 toilers who are also talented. Talent without hard work is worthless.

Now I've not been alive long enough to watch Glavin play but from what my Dad and Grandad tell me the football was a lot different then and players were nowhere near as fit as they are today which makes sense if Glavin could get by without working for his team.

bullock and Marcelle are of more recent vintage. On a different level Cantona never tackled anybody or ran back unless he wanted to kick somebody. Samir Nasri doesn't do it yet Moan City win a match or two. Sturbridge isn't reight keen either. Did you see Adel Trabbat destroy this division with QPR a few years ago I suspect he tackled no one all season yet as Warnock said at the time you let him do his thing and get less able colleagues to cover.

Football is just the same you kick the white thing between the two sticks. The emphasis on fitness above all else is a British thing it's why our national team never wins owt this insistence on robotic play.

One thing I will tell you now. I've been watching us play since the 70s good teams and bad teams. Good players and bad payers. If you're still supporting us in 20 or 30 years it's not the run run run toilers you'll remember it's the moments of genius you'll be able to recall in an instant. When I first started supported us we had a player Alan Little or Animal to his friends. I loved him he ran all day kicked owt that moved and was a proper team player. I cannot remember a single thing about the games he played for us now. At the same time I remember like yesterday some of Glavin's runs and Bullocks and Craig Hignett's.
