    They could be Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese, Burmese, Thai.... Shock horror they may even be British.

    Betting is certainly much more prevalent in Chinese culture than here. My mate (Pak Ming Ho) always goes out to a casino with his Dad whenever he comes to visit, though being British born he isn't too bothered, but he always talks about how his Dad's mates are into it. Definitely more widespread and culturally acceptable than here, and no need to get excited about possible racist comments!

    You seem to be basing your generalisation on 3 people who are Chinese (if indeed they are). There's no way you'd see 3 white British people doing something and immediately expect that everyone else who is white British do too. Even if you say you've seen more than 3, let's go all out and say 20, you still wouldn't generalise that number of white British people into everyone.

    I know a kid who works there, as I've already said, the reason I pointed out the nationality of them is because they are in a different league when it comes to gambling, it might be a generalisation it might be bigoted, but it's true, their attitude and the style in which they gamble is totally different to ours, the people I know and myself gamble to win a few quid place a bet and watch it on TV or go home and watch it, if they go on a idiot mugger they'll put their money in have half hour and leave, (They'll be the odd exception their always is) but not the orientals it's as though it's a day out to them or something they gamble to a different extent to anyone. It's true some else as already told you in this thread that theirs places you can read up on this, I think before you start throwing the racism accusations about you should do this, and see for yourselves.

    I'm not on about gambling, I'm on about the way in which they do it, it's not put a bet on and walk away like most do, it's more like I'm here until I'm totally skint or a millionaire. Their attitude towards gambling is totally different to most peoples, believe it or not that's up to you, but its true.

    Reading through this topic again, I'd like to just a point I've never said all oriental people are gambling addicts, same as I've never condemned them for the way they gamble, what I have said is the way the ones that do gamble, go about it they're on a different level to any one you know. Once again it seems people are looking for things in my posts that simply are not there.

    And again, what difference does it make if they're Chinese or not?

    I've worked in loads of bookies, believe me you get everyone in. So why focus on the few, possibly Chinese people, who are doing no different to the hundreds of white men and women who come in each day. Of the bookies I was manly based at, all our highest staking punters were white English men.

    Again I'm not on about how much they put on, I'm on about their approach to gambling the manor in the way most oriental people do it, it's not a case of putting a grand on a horse and coming back the day after to do the same, it's more of a day out, like i'd go to the pub and get pissed with mates, they go to bookies, and I'm making a point of it because that's the way they are if you're having a thread about people who gamble I can't see how it's possible to with mentioning the most notorious gamblers of all.
