I don't remember theses " number of games". I do remember him being abysmal defensively though.

66 goals conceded when he played alongside Shackell. 65 conceded in his first season. I didn't single Foster out at all. I simply pointed out he has been a constant in a consistently underperforming defence. I also singled out McNulty, Collins and Golbourne.

You're right , Bobby is better

if your talking about the matchday sponsors MOM, then sorry that doesn't hold any water, given the laughs of derision around the ground on a number of occasions following the pa anouncements.

There is no way on earth Wiseman is better than Hassell. Not a chance!

Just so I get this right Mcnulty plays his first ever full season at this level and is ****. But Stephen Foster has played many full seasons at this level in a season on season poor defence, yet he's a good player?

This was you quote I initially replied to, by the way I've not met anyone who says he is a great player.
'We have struggled defensively every season since we came back up, and with the exception of the first season the one constant in that defence is Stephen Foster. People will also say what a great player he is too'

Which I repeated above. Not sure how I am singling him out though if I am also saying I don't rate the rest of the defence.

we could play McCnulty as a sweeper and perkins just in front of the back 4 with a diamond midfield

It's typical of this board. On one hand we have a player who will only lower his high standards enough to play for us if nobody else wants him and if anybody dares to utter a negative word about him they are publicly lambasted. On the other hand we have a good hard working player who is loosely linked with another club and people are making him out to be a useless to55er. I love a bit of balance.

To me a few are missing the point here re McNulty's footballing ability. Yes he does look good on the ball and can knock a nice pasd or two but for me, being a centre half your job first and foremost is to be a solid defender. Im not confident that Jim is. His positioning at times was terrible last season and he got turned far to easily by tricky forwards. Seem to remember him clumsily giving away a few penalties too. And the stuff about him recovering from being an injury prone journeyman doesnt wash either. Great that he was able to play a full season but doesnt make him a brilliant player.

Having said all this, Keith did bring him in as a left back and he does always give 100%, would just love another Shackell or De Zeeuw insteaf to fill us with a bit more confidence.

I thought McNulty looked a decent player, first half of the season, but tired as the season wnet on. understandable really becuase it was his first season back after a career threatening injury. Think he'll only imporve over time.

Totally agree. I do sometimes wonder if some correspondents on here go to matches.

    Sorry but you are wrong.

Wiseman is seen as the weak link by opposing teams every game.

Our defence has always leaked goals since coming back up. Now, shackell was/is class, I like jimmy, and half and half with Moore. But the one constant is fozzy, now that has to tell somebody something!

Bobby is a better full back than Wiseman. I won't say 'fact' but it's close.
