Can't say I'm certain of the rules, but it seemed odd to me that the referee restarted the game after the injury by giving the ball to Wigan. Was that the right thing to do?
Stopping a promising attack due to a foot injury then giving Wigan the ball was just bizarre. Thought we had a couple of decent penalty shouts as well not given
The ref is as bad as any player in a red shirt today and sadly that says quite a lot. If the lad is badly injured I get him stopping the game - sort of. But how’s the uncontested drop ball Wigan’s when we had it in the final third? So bad. I think Roberts is injured. Stayed down on the edge of their box and then limped back into position just before their goal. Hopefully he’s ok but wouldn’t be surprised to see Pines on for him at half time.
No we were in possession so we should have been given the ball. That only doesn’t apply in the penalty area
First of all...horrible conditions, which are the same for both sides. Imho our passing is woeful...just really poor. Wigan look the more dangerous and its no surprise they are leading. Really need to get that midfield ticking. I think their wide players have the measure of our wing backs, although o Keefe has done well going forward. I can see them getting more second half....but the game is not lost, we just need to get a grip in midfield.
The corner flanks at Ponty end are soaked. Ball not rolling. So we let kids take pens at one side, the other side is ignored and fellas are aimlessly wafting forks in the general direction of the centre circle whilst telling 't tale
Disgraceful first half performance. Not one player in a red shirt has shown any modicum of ability. What's more frustrating is you know how Wigan are going to play and we've just let them played. We need to up the urgency in the second half if we're to get anything from the game.
Ref has been shocking. Conditions are terrible out there & a bad slip by Corey. Unfortunately it fell to their talisman striker. It feels at half time, after a fairly even game we are up against the Wigan HooDoo. Hope we can turn it round. The game is not lost. It's been a pretty even battle so far, with few chances at either end. Keep the faith.
Well we're making a bottom 6 side look like a top 6 side. Why are we so slow getting the ball forward, We're so lethargic at times and we have not put their goaly under pressure like Wigan have with ours. Manager needs to tell the lads were playing in red ,countless times given the ball away. I know conditions are bad ,but there the same for both teams ,at this rate there won't be 5k on Tuesday . Glad I opted to watch on I follow.
If he thought it was a head injury he needs his eyes testing - and it still shouldn’t have resulted in the ball being given to Wigan
Well it took the majority of the half to start playing the conditions and not play intricate passes that were going all over the place. And just as they did, the defence went missing. Not out of this by a long shot but it'll be a tough ask against twelve men.
Conditions poor, Defending poor, distribution bad, refereeing atrocious. just another day at the ‘Well’.
The only way he could have thought it was a head injury is if he wasn't watching play. Which admittedly I shouldn't discount with this ref.
Really poor going forward but the goal was on another level O'keeffe falls over then 3 centre halfs all 6ft + and Russell let a free header 6yrds out. The refs and the conditions are poor but let's not kid ourselves that's why we are losing . Let's hope for much better in the 2nd half.
