To start with none on the bench because too many were on the field - to take one off after six minutes - was more criminal

Tend to agree with you, I believe he's a better footballer techniqually than pines, but for this level I'd much prefer Pines for shear strength even though pines has mistakes in him, plus Pines and Roberts at set pieces would be a handful for most of this league

Overall, in the longer term, the individual result doesn't matter so much. Yes, its always disappointing to lose or even draw but the context is whether the team are slowly getting worse, stagnating or gradually improving. They seem to be improving on a few levels so Ill take the draw.

Yeah I know bud - but it was the wrong selection to begin with, I think a fair few of us called it out before kick off - and him bringing on Nwakali to sit rather than Jalo up top shows that.

The fact we had no proper forward on the bench makes it even more baffling he’d change the shape and setup after such a good performance against Rotherham last week.

The fact he was injured just forced his hand into doing what he should have done to begin with; but left us without a forward option.

Very strange team selection today. I’d still have started Humphrys but kept Watters back for off the bench. We need another option in January for me.

Can't argue with any of that, old mate. For me, a positive for us was finding a decent midfielder in Nwakali who gives us more in that area than does Craig.

Well I’d certainly agree with needing another option in January. We’re sitting in the Play Offs but I’m struggling to think of many games where we’ve comfortably disposed of the opposition. We miss a lot of chances. Every game seems like a battle which ( and i know this will upset a few) in a Division as poor as this one, is disappointing.

Games in this division historically are usually in the main battles, nothing changed there

Just a pity that any team selection by the head coach is back healed as being negative.
Take responsibility for team selection for once.
Let's see end of season .

We played decent and should have won. Team selection was fine. Some finishing was not fine.

Well that's chucked another one into the mix for Clarke to tinker with.
How does he drop Nwakali after a performance like that, was pinging it around like Connell when he used to be good:).
    MOTM for me.

I think Davis had a header close-range that was poor. But I'm loathe to knock Phillips for his two 'misses'. The one he strikes on the run, it whistled past the post by a couple of inches. It wasn't a simple chance. And his header, he does very well to even get across to it, and again, it's inches.

I don't think we were wasteful. Just didn't drop a couple of inches the other way.

I enjoyed the majority of the performance and as others have pointed out, it's part of a trend.

I’m not knocking anyone. Just saying on another day our chances (half or otherwise) would have gone in and then no one would be worrying about the selections.

I know you weren't, mate. My bad. I've read my post back and it seemed like I was arguing with you. I was trying to strengthen your point, but badly.
