I do, however, think the manager designed these tactics for a dry pitch. The balls we're playing down the flanks, that would normally hold up, are skidding on a wet surface and getting away from us so it's not working.

I think we're decent going forward and the defence is a much bigger issue.

 

The pitch is never dry, if the weather is dry the sprinklers are on up to kick off and at half time.

Often when the weather isn’t dry to be fair!

 

Chapman off least he realised his brain fart of a selection well one of.. took him 45 minutes though.

 

I’m certainly not arguing against the defence being the bigger issue, that is very clearly true.

 

I thought out of the three midfielders today Chapman was the least to worry about.

Odd at the moment. When we are bad we are as bad as any team I’ve seen represent us but the shoots of a good team are there. Weird team selections don’t help

 

Just as I expected, an average team destined for a mid table finish, ***** against decent opposition, beating the teams at the lower end of the table quality wise.

What’s worrying at this stage is Collins doesn’t yet seem to have figured out his best team, style, formation etc.

 

Nor does the fact that several of our better players are injured, ill or just very out of form. But I agree, it does feel a bit strange currently. Still, I'll definitely take being in and around the top 6 considering some of the performances we've put in!

 

I'd TAP (take a point) right now if I could, because this sounds really bad!!.

 

I’m not sure he has - the xG only being fifth when the goals scored is top supports the fact we aren’t actually creating as much as our current top scorer status suggests in my eyes.

The fifth best attack and tenth best defence (on goals conceded, Roberts probably improves that stat for us!!!), will lead to a finish around eighth. With this squad, of midfielders and attackers at least, that would be criminal.

 

Not picking Cadden just seems weird. He had a dodgy couple of games but he’s a good a player as we have.
