Don't get me wrong, they are not football people and would struggle to run a bath, but who the bloody hell would by us?
It's awful at the mo. No direction. (Only downwards) Coaching is sub-standard to put it mildly. Recruitment, panic stuff in all departments. On and off the pitch. I'm genuinly at a loss. The directors need to wield the axe in the right places. Or their losses will become more than astronomical. Nareev needs to stop being Mr Nice guy. Call an emergency meeting. He is the majority shareholder. And he needs the other shareholders to back him in whatever he or they decide. We will not attract other investment. As it's like chucking money down the drain.
Did anyone see anything positive to warm the deepest cockles, as a result of Clarke being replaced by Conor? I'd be happy with just one worm for any would-be early birds like me to feed on. Anything at all?
I'm not going to blame Hourihane who has been in control for just a couple of days. But it did appear that the only habitual move, or tactic was to launch it towards the right flank. On the very rare occasion the players got the ball down a little, played quickly either out wide or through the lines, we looked much better. It's how we created chances first half and Humphrys should have scored the one-on-one. It's how we scored the equaliser too. Quick football into feet/space. Sadly, we reverted to the nothing ball following Benson's strike and the home side just kept pushing a yard higher until it was almost inevitable that they'd get a chance. And regardless of our shoddy attempts at dealing with the cross, it was a fine finish by Oshilaja. Their opener was bad defending generally, with Benson looking like a midfielder and Roberts assisting the kid who scored. I feel for Flav, because he didn't put a foot wrong. As said, Benson did well out of position after a shaky start. McCarthy and Maël were steady enough. Don't think any of the midfielders will be getting much credit though. Unless it was there to be won, they looked a yard off the pace and none of them produced much in an attacking sense either. And that's our best area of the pitch, strongest section of the squad. Pitiful. Like watching slugs in there at times. Humphrys, DKD and Watters were lively enough, they tried. But there was little to feed on. Don't usually knock subs who enter the fray late on, but Farrugia looks another questionable addition. He's the wrong side in all defensive duels, or diving in, grabbing etc. I felt Corey had looked after Akins quite well. Didn't get up the pitch himself much, but despite the age, Akins is a handful. Complete limbo scenario now until a decision is made on the next head coach. Would be lovely if someone running things could speak up, communicate with the fanbase. But based on the squad in place, with little money to spend and under the current recruitment regimen, the next coach will need to be better than anyone we've had recently. Never mind the 'Clarke Out' sarcasm.... I still prefer 'Collins Out'. The issues remain. Enjoy your weekend, Reds. Stats to follow. PS - Benson my Player of the Match. Sorry!

Nothing. Lost to a very poor team that simply relied on physicality. We had neither the quality nor the desire needed to deal with it. I don’t particularly want to single anyone out, because they were all as bad as each other, but suffice to say I sincerely hope that the guy on Tykes TV, who I heard this morning saying we’ll probably flog Phillips for £2m, turns out to be right. Would be the steal of the century.
The next coach mate. Needs to pick his own backroom staff. Not pander to the wishes of the board, DoF and Ceo. Or he's on a loser to start with. And look elsewhere If in demand.
