I've no doubt...I'm just stating how poor they were today and never looked like scoring. I hear they were lack Lustre in the last two games so probably played them at a very good time. I have no doubt they are better than today's performance and will be in the mix a t the end of the season. A good point for us.
Look at some of the football Stendel for example had us playing in this league. That team would put 10 or 11 past us. Even the 2nd team.
As much as I loved Stendel, I think the players he had at his disposal were slightly better than what Duff currently has.
This pretty much. Stendel was great. And the squad he had was much better quality than this one. That the team he had would beat this one says nothing at all about Duff's ability as a manager. I don't think we'll be anywhere near going up* and that doesn't say anything about Duff's ability as a manager either. *Every chance l'll be wrong. I didn't think we'd be in the playoff positions in September/October, but we have been.
Are you thick? When we lose I’m gutted regardless. Entertainment means nothing if Barnsley lose. Barnsley winning entertains me. So I like Duff, because we win quite a few games with him in charge.
Second half against Charlton was absolutely tremendous. Ditto Wednesday away. We're as inconsistent as I expected us to be right now, but with 5 or 6 more points on the board. Plus we've had a couple of absolutely rotten bits of luck with injuries. I really don't know what you're expecting. The club has been suffering from a serious illness, from which we've only just started recovering. The period of recuperation will be long, with a lot of ups and downs.
So when our opposition aren’t up to much, they’re just going through a lean spell, however, when it’s us, we aren’t aren’t good enough. I’ve seen good and bad from us this season, And As I predicted our main consistent is our inconsistency.
I agree Stendel had better players but he had a disadvantage to Duff in not knowing the English league, the language difficulties. I'm.wanting Duff to be our Warne, actually be with us for more than 2 full seasons and build an identity. Stendel's team exploded into the league, i always felt we were going all out for the win ( like with Val),Duff's is a slower burner. I enjoyed the Rover's game, was frustrated with Exeter. Think it will be like that all season tbh.
FAY @MDG Can I just mention we have now gone 4 away league games in a row without conceding and have won 3 of them - in some we played excellent football - Wednesday away 2nd Half at Cambridge - I think Duff is doing OK with the players he has available. Never did I think we would be 6th at this stage of the season. I dont know if it will last but when the season started I said I would be happy with a top half finish. Now I will be disappopinted if we finish outside the top 10 and think Playoffs might be possible but am far from convinced at the moment Today I think was more about 2 fairly evenly matches sides cancelling each other out - for all their possession Bolton only created as many clear chances as we did
