Can't be often that a club hands out a two year contract to a player that doesn't want to play for you. Nor can there be too many players that sign that deal either.
He knew if it didnt work out at millwall he was ok I think he will have been given improved wages at the time by the club making him most likely one of the highest paid players here. Hence why the club are probably just as keen to loan him out to Sunderland so they can pay his wages.
What I find really strange though, is that it’s the exact same debate they’re having, about his ‘natural’ position. Happened here, happened at Millwall, now happening there. Even he must not know what his best position is anymore.
