You're right but isn't Barnsley fc supposed to be a business? If it can't manage to run refreshment stands in a heatwave then there is a serious lack of business skills at the club. Also isn't it actually against the rules of admission to bring your own drinks? I know people do but I think technically it's not allowed
It is but maybe the refreshment stands weren't ready, or they are still recruiting for the coming season? I don't know the answer, but I'm sure there's a reason. As for taking water in, the last game i went to i had a bottle of water and to be honest I wasnt sure of the rules. I showed the steward and she waved me through no problem. I think certainly on a day like today common sense would prevail (if it is actually against policy).
Oh I'm sure it would because thankfully the vast majority of people who work for and on behalf of Barnsley fc are good caring people. Generally speaking they try to help wherever they can so if people are not taking the piss they'll happily bend the rules a little (in my experience). As for the refreshment stands. One had the shutters down, another was fully stocked, lights on, everything powered up but no staff. Perhaps that's why lucy dawn got a cremated something or other actually because it had been left burning in a closed stand and then hurriedly transferred to an open kiosk?
At Edgbaston they have what they call 'hydration stations'. It's a stupid name, but a great idea - every sports ground should be giving people the ability to refill water bottles without having to queue at a bar. You've got mains water - just put a tap in.
Tbf it's an open day, so if you went for the whole thing you've a right to expect to be able to buy food and drink. I bought a cold drink at half time, I was hotter and thirstier than I thought I'd be
That's a fair comment. But there is the corner shop, the sandwich shop etc. And if everyone turned up to the game on a day like today with no water, you would have queues for most of the match. Let's go with the fountain idea
