There looks little chance of the club investing to preserve our Championship status in January (assuming it isn't beyond recall by then). In that situation the temptation for further asset-stripping will probably be too much temptation for them, and I can foresee Woodrow and Mowatt departing. A second self-inflicted relegation in three years. Murray will carry the can and a new coach from Europe we've never heard of will have to try and emulate DS in League One.
Thanks for taking the time out to respond. I'm not part of any groups as I generally go to games in the car with friends and family, so don't feel the need to be part of a group as such. My question was more out of interest than anything else, I just wish they'd be more open with the general fanbase through the website, radio sheffield etc.
Thanks for the response. I wasn't implying that these were new meetings, I know they've been going for a while. I'm just not sure it sits comfortably that because you belong to a 'fan group' of some kind you get a tonne more information than the rest of the fans. Basically, if you travel on a bus to games you get more info than if you go in the car.
i think thats the key here, i understand it as 95% of the income was spent but, that includes 4 years salary of the contract? so the money we get for turning up in the championship (less in league one) next year and subsequent years will be available
Absolutely not a problem mate. The discussions are mainly based around how the club operate re the fans. For Example I raised the point on reciprocal pricing and how I hate it. Fine when the Pricing benefits the fans. But not to take advantage of having the top end prices that benefit such as Wednesday and Leeds. This not only doesn't benefit our own support but I get no pleasure in seeing other fans having to pay over the odds. It's also a fact that the club can not charge less than the away fans. But special offers do take place to to try and alleviate the costs. Also I put forward the point On Yer Tyke put on here regarding him paying £53 for a shirt, another thing we've championed in the past. Several views were put forward and taken away by the club to consider. Basically some of the items put forward are publicised if they come to fruition. A couple of the examples being interest free season tickets. The previous contracts I believe Didn't allow. the new provider does. Other offers. Match ticket bundles were born out of the suggestions. Some of the clubs own promotions being Appreciated. Some appear to be a bit of a failure to a degree. For example 3/400 under 11s free season tickets were never used. A total of 11/1200 ( would need to double check that figure) were sold @ £10. To try and prevent that from happening again. A decision we fully understood. I know Gally reports fully on here. To the best of his ability to minute the proceedings. On this occasion Jay was there in his place and as they say a report will will be drafted. when they have the time and convenience. ( This being one of the avenues that reaches a decent size fan base) Maybe an invite to local press could reach the wider fan base. Worth the question.. Suggestions were put forward as to how things could be improved regards the fan zone and the family club. Both of which I must add have had very good feedback. Credit to the Supporters trust and club for bringing those to fruition.
If they have accounted for all future costs of a 4 year contract, I'm not adverse to it. If of course they tell us that. What it should mean is that future season tickets and future sales are also available as 100 % for a player, without thinking about what league or ongoing years even relegation. So. If we go down, we won't need to come out with the we need to sell cos we now lose 6 million etc. It's ******* wierd though It also means anyone who does leave, it frees up say 2 years worth of wages....
I raised the issue about replica kit costs at a previous fans meeting when GG was in the hotseat. They thought it was good value because they cost more in France / Germany etc.. Which I thought missed the point entirely. I've always thought £30 max would be a reasonable amount for a shirt, £20 for kids sizes. To get around the supply demand issue, offer them at that price following an online pre-launch for people to get a good look at the design etc, then take pre orders.. After that they can order a small bulk batch of spares for the club shop which can be set at the normal price point we see now. This strategy would significantly reduce overheads and assist in order and stock volumes etc enough to lower the price. I'm pretty sure they can find a manufacturer who can produce a quality kit at the £30 retail price point so they club can make some profit as well, even if it's not the likes of Nike / Puma etc..
Tbh I am still wearing my Premiership shirt. I actually find football shirts good value for money as they wash and dry quickly and dont fade.
Would dot the same Helen but sadly can’t fit into it ps can do without the response Juddy and anyone else .
If I'm absolutely honest it's my exs shirt I'm wearing. I had the white and green one and only wear that occasionally. Does still.fit me though!
Yeah it's ********. Plus surely if they are going to talk about it in those terms then they should treat the salary that we have avoided paying Moore over those years as income to be consistent...
That’s where I’m standing, I don’t want to call them liars, so if they say 95% of the monies has been spent on the new recruits then until proven otherwise that’s what it is. trouble is, I don’t know what’s worse, actually not having spent that or having spent it all and ended up with the team we’ve got. One is disingenuous and one is.......well let’s just leave it at some very poor decisions. Neither gives me great hope.
I think this particular meeting has stirred up more emotions and interests than in the past. The club have to take responsibility for that one. Previous ones have almost gone under the radar with a lot of supporters because there's no 'more info' as the agenda is more about fans issues and questions with non-playing field issues. If that makes sense? This one was a special case because of the radio silence. I posted this the other day, but it's also criteria set by the football league that all clubs hold these forums with fan group representatives as part of a fan engagement drive. I think it's two a year, but might only be one. Questions in the past would be ticket pricing, flexible ticket pricing, car park issues, travel to away games, bottle tops in the concourse, etc.
You're probably right and we are reading too much into not being involved, when we're not involved in the other meetings either. In my opinion the club have still handled this whole thing extremely badly, if they'd have properly communicated with fans this season there wouldn't be such a furore on here about the meeting.
I'm not sure anyone has a different opinion mate. If Stendel was still in charge and we were sitting 12th to 16th this meeting would have passed most people by.
It will be very interesting to see what happens over the next 2 years. If everyone's contract is accounted for now for the next 4 years, then we basically have no outgoings. Apart from the gas and leccy. So every penny we receive going forwards is a bonus. A season ticket, a shirt, a matchday ticket sale, a player sale, prize money for a cup run, TV money (whatever division were in). All of it can be reinvested then. Every single bit. Because the playing squad is paid for already. Or, they're lying ********.
Agreed. Item one on the agenda was the statement. IF the 'departure' aftermath had been handled with more respect then you're right, the difficult questions wouldn't have probably not even been broached. There's certainly an air of 'they've brought it on themselves' amongst our fan base.
