Darren Moore was a quality centre half. I can't comment on his ability to coach, but if he was appointed I d fully support him. But I don't think we should be telling any potential manager who to work with, that should be their decision. I don't want any decision making to be made to appease the fans either, just who they think is best for the club and that they support their choice fully
Or experienced managers like Paul Hart, Gudjon Thordarsson and Nigel Spackman. There's cases for and against any manager, I for one would prefer an Andy Ritchie type to a Paul Hart type any day of the week, same goes for Dave Bassett over Keith Hill etc etc
Megson would be great. http://www.independent.co.uk › Sport › Football › News & Comment [/URL]en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gary_Megson
My thoughts exactly. You need the right players to play the long ball game and we'd need half a new squad to implement it successfully which really isn't a realistic option at the moment.
Long ball is awful football too... Hate bosh it football!! Theres not that much of it a out at the moment in the championship, its more of a direct game of anything!! Te difference being picking a long pass to a player rather than giving it to the defenders and asking them to hit it long and hit space!!! Megsons football would not suit our squad at all!!
Let me just say this about Megson, whether you like him, his style, his methods or not he's totally what we need right now. I'm not interested in anything pretty, it's about time we won some games ugly or scrappy. Would I choose him if we were in a decent state, probably not but where we are it's a no brainer. Oh and none of the owls link washes either, one name.....Danny Wilson
Let's be right though, we're a team of umpa lumpas. Not much use in the ball being in the air if you can't win headers. It's all opinions but I'd much rather we got the ball down and tried to pass it.
Darren Moore for me loads a links in the game with a defensive mentality need to see that and start grinding results how instead of quote playing well and losing
Me too, and I don't think Megson is the long ball merchant people make out. Btw, I did PM you earlier.
You don't need a big team to play direct football just a couple of big strikers that can hold the ball up!
For the short term and if just given the choice of 2 between now and the end of the season it pains me to say this but i would take Megson over O'Driscoll.
in bottom 3 when he took over think they were 5th top when he left, managed 2 clubs in the premier league.Basically he,s probably one of the few managers who might be able to keep us in the championship this season, why who do you suggest?
