Yeah. He's a good footballer. He's young and I trust that if any manager in our recent past can help him it's Danny Wilson.

And it'll continue to wind you up. Win/Win.

Have I imagined you slagging him off on here?

I don't think he will but you're right even if he signs on significantly reduced terms we're stuck with a waste of space until at least January.

I think there's only me and Conan in the tiny Mellis fan club. But even I'm a bit meh about it. Same reaction I had when I saw we'd offered Cywka a new deal. Although, on that, a couple of Polish lads I work with are going to come to the away game at Bradford next season. If Cywka is here.

Apologies Conan. Can I join the club?

I'm not arsed about any staying. Remember that he's the only one out of the 'retained' list that didn't start v QPR. Which says to me they're not arsed.

It's a pretty elite club as Whitey will testify, but I'm sure we can fit you in.

I think he could be an asset at that level as there will be very players with his ability. Whereas headless cloggers will be ten a penny.

I don't think many, if any, on here would argue that Mellis isn't a talented player, but I don't think too many would have him in the team ahead of Dawson based on their performances last season. There isn't much use for talent if you can't get into the team because you are an idle git who doesn't give a toss for 90 minutes.

I have to say I'd rather pick you than Dawson most weeks. Whilst he's with us of course I support him but he's anti football everything I hate. He may well be ok of course next season. Mellis is a young lad with not much football behind him. He was pretty ***** last season and I don't really care if he stays or not but Barnsley fans irritate me they forget when we relied on him we stayed up ad he scored some vital goals. Last season we relied on the likes of Dawson and got relegated. Mellis at least represents someone who can pass and control the ball unlike Dawson.

I don't get why folk are debating which one of Mellis & Dawson we should've kept. There different types of midfielder, one sits & holds & one is creative & plays further forward & they aren't competing for the same spot in the team

Think Mellis is the one that's been going the sitting imo:rolleyes:
Tbh its time the club had the upper hand on players and their Agents, they'd be uik to turn the tables on the club given chance.
