I thought the age rule was if the player had come through your academy so you got compensated for your years working with the player so think if his contract ran out we'd get nothing. Could be wrong though.
Well, according to the radio then, in the last few hours the club has changed its stance (or the radio have reported it differently). But we all know radio sheffield don't exactly cover/report whats actually been said. I'd prefer to listen to interviews, or wait until the club announce things. Or is it cos their is too much positivity around and some (inc. Radio Presenters etc) can't stand to see it and need to sensationalise anything they can to try and de-stablise things.
i'm not one for conspiracy theories, but for way too long, radio sheffield have had a monopoly on reporting BFC news. they have sought to gain the 'exclusive', and in fairness while they have been the only real source of comms, they have also taken any opportunity to undermine local announcements (namely The Chron and Matt Murray) that's all now about to change, as mansford quite rightly begins to gain control of messages coming out of the Club. moving forward, it wouldn't surprise me one bit, to see Radio Sheffield begin to ramp up a strategy of 'mischievous' reporting it does puzzle me though, why The Chron aren't ramping up their efforts to up their game, show some fight, and get closer to reporting the Club's progress. they seem perfectly happy to let Radio Sheffield get all the air time
Difference there though is obvious. The Chronicle is a weekly newspaper with virtually no chance of getting news exclusives. Radio Sheffield is on the air all day and can drop a bit of news into the pot any time they feel like it. Doesn't matter to them if it is real or made up, or just speculative.
