Came on as a sub at Blackburn in 90/91 and scored with his 1st touch. It was his 1st touch in league football.

    Yes David Currie

Yes I remember that one. A shot and a header. What a player he was with he ball at his feet. Head down, beating players for fun at times.

Loyden could have had a hatrick by half time ....

Badly frosted pitch and he ran himself into the ground, narrowly missing a hatfull of chances, but becoming an instant crowd favourite. When he got the penalty, he leathered it so hard past Phillips that almost broke the net. Went on to score 8 goals in ten games and then the drought set in. Sold back to Chester, one of his old clubs, ironically after just finding his coring touch again by scoring a hat trick against - wait for it - Sheffield United in the Hallamshire Cup (whatever happened to that). That was a memorable game as well, as we were 2-0 down until Loyden turned it round second half with three goals.

    Them were the days

3-0 down and we came back to win

These days its more likely to be 3-0 and come back to lose

    RE: Peter Markstedt

Now that was a defensive performance. We scored early and spent the rest of the match stood on the goal line blocking shots. (neer)
