    Clint Marcell :-

Came of the bench at WBA in the first game of promotion season and scored. Coming out of the ground all the Baggies fans we talked to were raving about him.

RE: I though it was his Debut

The half Geddis, half Cunningham goal was against Grimsby at home (83/84). I've got it on video. We didn't have Geddis when we beat Fulham 4-3 (82/83).

Fantastic debut by the suubstitute Turner ....

Came on with maybe 20 minutes left. Long ball out of defence and he throws Mark Venus clean off the scent by allowing the ball to fly across him, whilst dummying to trap it. Away he goes and I am thinking - he's going to blow this - the blood will rush to his head - he will try to take on the goalie and will miss. The lad had two degrees and a shed-load of common sense. He headed for the left of the goal, drawing the keeper to one side and creating the open goal for McClare to tap in. Brilliant!

Then he scored our second near the end after a corner. Just amazing debut.

Also - seem to recall a youngster on loan from Nottingham Forest for Ipswich - Marlon Harewood and he was appalling!

Not a debut, but Scott Jones

Recalled from loan, straight in against Man U, 2 storming goals.

I can remember the Sky Sports stats to this day: Scott Jones: Shots 2: On Target: 2, Goals: 2.

    Scott Jones

was my neighbour for a bit when i moved to Aston.

Lived in a small 2 bed semi with his mum, dad & brother.

They moved out not long after we moved in. Bang went my chance of some free tickets.

Both he & Carl Tiler went to Aston Comprehensive although he was bit younger obviously.

Only came over from Old Trafford that afternoon and didn't really know his team-mates.

Scores 2 and sets up Mark Stallard for another.

We all thought he was the Messiah.

    RE: Peter Markstedt

Markstedt had great potential, but sadly was injury prone. He will never forget his debut for us, that's for sure.

    I believe</p>

Mate of mine sat next to Turner's dad, who gave him complimentary tickets on the gate. The fella was enjoying himself
