Duplicated post !

It was proper scary coming out after the match - no segregation at all !
And walking down the streets looking for the car didn't help either !

Don't know how that happened - it wasn't me !

    RE: Best I can remember

I don't remember being intimidated that time, but I was bricking it last time I went to the Hawthorns and Barnsley fans were running towards our buses covered in blood. fecking horrible fans in that area of the country

The best has got to be the Prem. Me and my mate in sombreros, the red hot weather and when Redders scored-fantastic!

Sorry, I meant at Maine Road !
Never had any problems at The Hawthorns - it's another world compared to St Andrews, which is completely the opposite, despite being so close !

    Ahh apologies mate.

I had a bit of grief when I was at City of Manchester stadium, but nothing at Maine Rd. Then again, it was my fault at C.O.M. for inciting some of the fat feckers sat in the home section near us. Once we were 5/6 down you just had to laugh, and most of this was aimed at their fans, but a few of 'em seemed to want to take it further, and started the old threatening gestures, but never turned into more.

We had trouble at Birmingham too, and Villa actually. Car broke into at St Andrews, along with a few more on our road...though I guess this could've been done by any body (there were no markings to show we were Barnsley fans. At Villa we just got a lot of people intimidating me and my Dad, who by that point was using a walking stick, and was clearly getting a bit worried they might try and knock him over. Soon shut up on the way back though after we'd beat 'em.

    Most bizarre for me was......

MK Dons away on a baking hot day 1-1.

Wandering across the souless town, over the top of roundabouts, dodging the cars on the motorway speed dual carriageways looking for a pub. Stumbling across a Wetherspoons to find it packed full of reds, drunken, singing with their tops off and waving their shirts in the air. The people of Milton Keynes apparently had to receive counselling afterwards.

It was absolutely baking hot, we wore our new black kit and it seemed to sap the energy out of the players, or were Matt Carbon and Barry Conlon running in slow motion? Probably the latter. I remember thinking that Fola Onibuje looked massive and a bloke saying "fookin' hell we've signed a harlem globetrotter!" Paul Reid scored I think and a Colgan flap led to their equaliser.

The whole place felt manufactured with no atmosphere, no personality and no place for a football game.

Sat next to a pile of sick

produced a certain LondonTyke, who spent the second half in the toilets puking, while the sick next to me cooked in the sunshine and got riper and riper smelling

He'd have been one of the Reds in Wetherspoon singing earlier
